"Lions signed S Taylor Mays.

A second-round pick in 2010, Mays has not played more than 440 snaps in any season and only managed 61 plays for the Bengals last year. Still just 27, Mays will hope to stick on the Lions' roster as a backup safety and special teamer." - per Rotoworld

He's definitely got the physical tools, but his struggles in coverage don't bode well for his odds of making the team.

Imo, a move to OLB might not be the worst thing in the world for the guy...

Just saw that too. It sucks because the guys that played Thursday were no better than him (except IAQ) and he has a higher ceiling than them.

I think he only has a higher ceiling in theory, at this point. He's been through a lot of teams and just can't get on the field.

I'd rather explore the potential of Johnson and Suite than roll the dice on a career under-achiever.

Johnson is who they are going with for my money.

I think he's firmly on the bubble. If he doesn't make the 53 outright then he'll absolutely make the practice squad if he clears waivers. I think Suite is a lock for the practice squad as well.
