You say that like going to the Super Bowl would be a bad thing.

Going to the Superbowl would be fantastic. Watching that Superbowl quality team blow up without a championship as our savior is shown the door would be even more devistating.

Should the Lions keep Taylor Decker around long-term?

Should the Lions keep Taylor Decker around long-term?

Decker’s play has been right around average for most of his career. After a stellar rookie season, Decker suffered a torn labrum that set him back in his preparation for his sophomore season. Since rehabbing and returning, he’s been a solid, dependable left tackle, but his season-opener against Arizona gave way to many doubters about Decker and whether or not the team should move forward with him at the team’s left tackle.

But since those early-season missteps, Decker has been one of the best tackles in all of football this season according to Pro Football Focus:

I'd also draft Georgia LT Andrew Thomas in 2020 should tOSU DE Chase Young is drafted prior to our slot. I don't believe for one nanosecond we'll get that opportunity for the latter.

Wait, when I suggested this you said the draft for tackles was weak. That aside, We will need to draft one. That is my guess of who we take. Also, that mountain from Louisville in the later rounds would be great too. Looks like a Trent Brown clone but even a little bigger.

Wait, when I suggested this you said the draft for tackles was weak.

After Thomas, you're venturing down a road of guys who are limited athletically, don't belong on the left side, or don't have enough experience at the CFB level that proves they're worth a shot.

Bama's LT, Leatherwood, has one year experience at LT. 2019.

Iowa's RT, Wirfs, has mostly been at RT except injury replacement.

Washington LT, Trey Adams, has had some injuries and surgeries I lost count.

Bama's RT, Willis, belongs inside at RG.

want me to go on ?

This class, As A Whole, is WEAK. end of story.

I think trying to upgrade Decker is something you do when you have a sound team. Lions have way too many far more pressing needs. Worry about your positions that are far below league average first.

Wagner won't be on this team when new league year 2020 begins and expecting Crosby to all of a sudden play at Wagner's level, both are shitty but Crosby long term will be worse, is asking for Stafford's career to be done next year.

I agree with your point but I'll tell you right now, it's highly unlikely that Young gets drafted by the Lions.

Clemson swiss knife specialist, Simmons, doesn't fir the physical stature that MP gets all excited about.

Had MP been the HC in 2017 Jarrad Davis would never have been drafted. Davis nor Simmons fits the benchmarks that MP looks for.

I like Simmons play just as much as you do, however, the above statement comes into play.

read up on any of the OT they have listed on their big board and then go watch they games played, not just highlights. Click on their name and that pop-up has a link to click on Full report and sometimes there's 3 or 4 different reviews from different guys.

The following link is the best I've encountered but doesn't mean they're all correct in their analysis.

We need a RT way more than a LT. Heck I would be OK moving Decker to RT if we draft Thomas but if not there are some decent RTs.

If BQ stays I’m sure he won’t let his first draft pick walk. Makes him look bad.

I like this site but keep in mind that almost all these folks are writers and the few who are not have never been decent scouts or they would be working for a team.

I don't have any issues with re-signing him.
Also willing to let his bad day against Chandler Jones who is probably a top 3 pass rusher in the NFL slide.

If we are picking third. It is not out of the realm that Burrow and Tua go top 2. Hell, maybe even Herbert if he lights up his bowl game as well.
