start the speculation train.

one reason is because Greene isn't going to be on this road trip. You may see another move where a 7th defensemen is brought in as a safety valve.

A potential trade could be in the works? A move like this isn't done without more movement coming so I have to imagine there's going to be something else in the coming days.

Toffoli has been in a pretty big slump lately and his job is to provide offense. Get him going in Manchester again and regain confidence.

Would have been nice a few days ago so I could have seen him play in Albany.

With Greene hurt AGAIN
The Kings may be looking to add a Dman
Pearson could have been sent but he did ok last night. Tofolli has been semi struggle recently and maybe the Kings are hoping getting more ice time will help

Maybe Vey will be called up to take his spot on the Kings roster. The delay could be that Manchester may need him now and the Kings don't have to worry about adding anyone before Thursday in St Louis.

How do you explain eight goals and 15 points in the first 18 games and only one goal and one assist over his last 15 games?

Screwing with the lines - Time to put them back

Toffoli has hit a wall, I don't think Sutter and his line tinkering has a lot to do with it. He doesn't seem like the same player whether he is on a scoring line or a checking line. No big, it happens with young players.

Toffoli sent down to me says something is in the works.

Scrivens traded to edm for a third?

That's what's being reported on TSN.ca. The Oilers then traded Dubnyk to Nashville for Matt Hendricks. Guess that means we'll see Marty Jones as the new backup for Quick. Although that move hasn't been announced yet.

Good, he needed to regain his confidence. Put pucks in the back of the net and come back with a vengeance.

His demotion was based purely on performance. He did not seem like he was the same player early on, which is normal for young players. We see that far too often, kids come up, go on a tear because they are on a high but then reality hits and the physical and mental requirements to be an NHL player take over. I believe that is what happened to him.

Per Sutter:

“He hasn’t scored a goal in 10 games,” Darryl Sutter said. “It’s like I told some guys on the ice today. Tyler got to go down to work on his game. Some guys get to go to the press box. Some guys get to go to the end of the bench. I said there’s not much you can do about it. Based on performance. Hey, Pearson, we’ve sent Lindy down. Every team does it. It’s not a big deal.”

Another thing to consider is that in an Olympic year, players who appear in 80% of the team's 20 games leading up to the Olympic Break (16 games) cannot be assigned to the minors. With the 2-3 week layoff, that means players who need to play and would be AHL eligible (like Toffoli) sit since no NHL games go on.

He needs to keep playing while the break is going on and they had to send him early, but as noted, he was sent mainly to improve his game.

That's a good point too, I like the idea of him working on his game during the break. Will Vey and Jones be sent down during the break?

My guess is yes. Jones needs to keep playing and Vey does the team no good sitting up in LA. I haven't checked but I think both guys are eligible to be sent down too (Vey for certain and I don't think Jones has played in 16 of the last 20 games) so it shouldn't be a problem.
