T.O. Had Secret ACL Surgery: Is His NFL Career Now Over?

BREAKING NFL NEWS:

Terrell Owens, who is scheduled to become a free agent when the NFL resumes business for the 2011/12 season, has undergone surgery, performed by Dr. James Andrews within the last month, according to an ESPN report, to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in one of his knees. Just as it is a mystery exactly when the surgery was performed, it is also a mystery as to how the injury happened over this offseason.

Conflicting stories say that it either happened during a private workout while the entire league is locked-out from practicing together as sanctioned and fully protected and insured entities or that it happened somehow on the set during a recent taping of his VH1 reality TV show, “The T.O. Show.”

Owens still, as apparently reported by his agent Drew Rosenhaus anyway, intends to return to the game of football for his 16th season in the NFL after the minimum 6 months that it will supposedly take him to fully recover and rehabilitate himself from the surgery.

Contrary to that initial report however, comes a Truth & Rumors article on fannation.com courtesy of Sports Illustrated and ESPN.com that states the claim that Owens has already “told several people in the NFL that he has indeed considered retirement.”

Just what is the truth or the rumor in this particular case of Terrell Owens and his mysterious ACL injury? I suppose only time will tell for sure on that one.
