Well all of our draft picks are now signed and ready to go. Thankfully this didn't drag out and he can get into training camp and start mixing it up again with our OL players.

He said he almost burst into tears of happiness when he was signing the paperwork! This guy has really come a long way to get where he is. Hopefully that drive never stops.

Sounds like the guaranteed language was taking a while to get figured out. There really isn't much wiggle room for how much the contract can be worth but the guaranteed money and some of the language geared towards that guaranteed money can be negotiable. Most teams do try to protect themselves from such things as injuries or if the player has legal trouble from having to pay the player if they get in trouble. With Sly it just boiled down to his agent wanted almost the whole contract guaranteed while the Broncos obviously wanted a little protection.

The other part of this could be that 2 of the main FO guys being suspended could have haulted some of this. Throw in that the Broncos needed to get Clady signed long term by a certain due date so it took first priority. Thankfully it was only one practice that he missed and in the grand scheme of things will mean very little on the season. Just glad to see all Off Season stuff starting to calm down and actually getting back to real football.
