Today is a fun day in summer leave. U have Boston and Miami playing today. Nap and Young playing. Noel is playing for Philly.

Todays Game: Miami vs Boston, Magic vs Philly, Det vs Houston, Mem vs OKC

Game 1 was Nets vs Pacers and Nets won. Plumlee played very well.

Miami: Napier looks really bad in game 1. J. Hamilton looking good for Miami so far.

Boston: Olynyk off to a nice start. Not a good start for Smart.

Most summer league rosters are worse than the top 10 CBB team.

Marcus Smart and Shabazz Napier are a combined 0-13 from the field so far.

Can't draw any conclusions based on summer league play. Rookies are forced to make tons of adjustments, and they are very early in the process.

Little things like transitioning from using the synthetic ball that the NCAA uses to the NBA ball can take some time. If they are still struggling in October, then you can worry a little.

Also doesn't help that most of the guys they're playing with won't be on the roster on opening night

Shabazz turned it on in the 2nd half. Not really too concerned about a bad shooting game. I see that he's able to find players in good spots on the court and run the offense efficiently, which should be his primary responsibility as a PG. I'm liking James Ennis though.

Obviously I'm not going to put too much stock into 1 summer league practice... Err, I mean, game.

BUT... I came away from that game feeling WAY more excited about Ennis than Napier.

Ennis is the Heat 2nd round draft pick from last year. They sent him to Europe for a year. I expect him to be on the roster this season

I like the summer league for what it is. An opportunity to see some guys who have been recently drafted, some guys trying to play their way into the league and will make it on some level and some guys trying to make it who never will.

I don't look at it as any kind of measuring stick on how the teams will do in the regular season. I'm looking forward to when the summer league in Long Beach starts on the 11th.
