is still a major issue for our defense. And if you need another reason to hate the NY Giants.
As of right now the Skins defense has allowed 21 3rd dn conversions on 50 3rd dn conv attempts. That's a 42% conversion rate or two 3rd dn conversions away from being too close (46%) from the supposed historic worst ever 47% the defense allowed last year. Take away the 0/11 on 3rd dn Raiders games and we're a uber shitty 21/39 or allowing a 1st dn on 3rd dn 53.8% of the time.
The Eagles were 8/14 57% on 3rd dn and had a 58 yd TD pass on 3rd n long.
The Rams were 5/12 41% on 3rd dn or one 3rd dn conv from being 50%
The Chiefs were 8/13 61% on 3rd dn and we gave up at least two 3rd dn conversions via penalties on the defense.
I'm not getting warm fuzzies deep in the cockles region of my body when thinking of our 3rd dn defense.

Fuck the Giants and Mara's triflin ass.
In 2016 the Skins defense allowed 97 3rd dn conversions on 208 3rd dn attempts or 46.63% of the time. A whole lot was made of this and rightfully so by some. The some being numerous Redskin posters who frequent this board. The media also seemed to enjoy pulling this stat out of their ass, left nostril, from behind their right ear etc.
What didn't seem to get the same type of airplay from the media was that a mere year earlier the Giants defense allowed 108 3rd dn conversions on 230 3rd dn attempts or 46.95% of the time.
It may not be by much, but 46.95% trumps 46.63%. Just like 108 trumps 97 and 230 trumps 208. So why were the Redskin habitually tagged as the NFL's worst ever 3rd dn defense?
As my ese homey Miguel who I call Miguel would say, 'Fuck the Giants and Mara eh."
Eh indeed Miguel. Eh indeed.
