Ridiculous article. He's bullshitting. When he asked Merrill Hoge if Hoge had seen any stat-padding during the season, according to the article, Hoge said "No," straight up.

Later on in the article, Steven A. backtracks on what is obviously a bold faced lie.

No. Its Stephen A Smith saying 3 or 4 Redskins players are saying it. That's a far cry from Redskins players saying anything. And WTF? You get a bombshell like that dropped on you and can't remember if it was 3 players or 4 players that said it. I officially stopped reading though after Smith claimed that the players came up to him during the season. So WTF happened Screamin? Did a recurring brain injury cause you to fuckin forget right after the player dropped that nugget on your ass and you suddenly just remembered all of it now?

The really fucked up thing though is.......the Redskins are enough of a fuckin puzzle factory that it can't be completely discounted as bullshit.

Odd timing for this to come out. And who knows, maybe he was padding his stats to a degree. If he was, it shows a bit of selfishness on his part, but I can also see as to where plenty of players have done this. Maybe not at QB... but when a guy is a pending FA, we have all seen guys go for the stats over team interest to a degree.
