After watching him play against Seattle, when should he start?
When should he play again (but not start)

My thinking is for him to start against the TUAless Dolphins!

I agree. Next game is against the Niners and that will be tough. But then they've got the Dolphins, Texans and Jags.

Shit not sure it matter I would like to say the team with the worse pass rush defense b/s our O Line is worse than I thought it would be

Not analyzing your opinion, but the statement makes me think it's like saying dog shit smells worse than you thought.

This. We aren't even sure that Maye starting would make a significant difference. I think at some point they should play Maye but I don't that rushing him in is the answer.

At this point it doesn't really matter when he starts... He is going to get injured regardless so the real question is, "when do we want him to get injured?"

Give both him and Milton some playing time against the Dolphins. (Third and fourth quarters??)

See what Milton has to offer. Create a little competition. Brady always stepped up when there was another QB who could play standing behind him.

Oh yeah......cut Brissett and sign Tannehill.

Ranked 31 entering week 4. They need to sign some linemen to improve if even marginally. Or are they planning to play with the garbage we have all season?

Look at what the Commanders are doing with Daniels, and they have a bottom-half line (ranked 22 going into week 4). Jayden looked formidable yesterday night. Highest completion rate ever for a rookie (91.3%).

Ok let me play devils advocate.

You chose on rookie who is making an impact on a better team than NE.

Jump back one year ago. Anthony Richardson. Drafted #4. Got his start around week 4. Injuried throughout the season hardly played. Fast forward 2024. Same player who has a cannon of an arm, runs a 4.4, better oline, WRs and arguably better RBs is leading the league in INTs and lowest passer rating in the NFL under 50%.

How are the other rookie QBs doing that got drafted last year?

"The Patriots have allowed pressure on a league-worst 45.8 percent of their dropbacks.
New England has surrendered 11 sacks, which accounts for 12.5 percent of their dropbacks.

"This is why coach Jerod Mayo has been hesitant to start rookie Drake Maye, who got into the game in relief Thursday, completed 50 percent of his passes and got walloped on one sack."

The reason for this is because the coaching staff still has not prioritized improving the offensive line.
Until they make the decision that this OL needs significant improvement, nothing will change. End of Story.
