At the D23 Expo, Lucasfilm confirmed that Ewan McGregor will be returning for an Obi-Wan TV series to be released on the Disney+ streaming service.

This is waaaaaaay more appealing than the other spinoff they announced about Cassian from Rogue One. I liked Rogue One a lot but I have no interest in seeing a spinoff of that. But McGregor back as Obi-Wan? Sign me up

This should be good. Might see Vader, Jabba, Boba Fett or Maul. Will probably see Bale Organa at some point as well. Now that Emilia Clarke has been introduced as an agent of Maul during this time period and has more free time on her hands, I'd be surprised if she doesn't appear from time to time as well. Of course I don't just want cameos for the sake of them but to have them actually be well-written.

Kind of hope George Lucas has some involvement in this. For the love of The Force don't let him write the dialogue or iron out the finer details but hopefully he's used as a consultant for some general story ideas.

I would be surprised. He won't be the start of the show, he's much older, and he'll be wearing a mask.

Kumail Nanjani is a nice get. Benny Safdie doing some acting is interesting.

Keep in mind, regardless of where in the Star Wars realm they cut out a slice to make a series ...that is totally irrelevant to whether or not they fuck it up.

But having McGregor does make it harder to fuck it up.

Based on the trailer, I sorta get the vibe we might be in for another show like Book of Boba where the show isn't really about the title character for extended periods. I could see them spending a lot of time following Inquistors hunting other Jedi

Looks like we get at least glimpses of young Luke and probably get to know more about Owen and Beru (sp?). And yes, LOTS of Inquisitor stories (I am 100% OK with that).

Lots of the characters looked familiar. The main Inquisitor, for example (the spinning saber).

Looks like it takes place approx 10 BBY.

I assume we will see a younger Ahsoka. Will they recast or do some deepfake of a twenty-something Rosario Dawson?

I have a question in a New Hope it seemed like Leah never met Obi Wan but in the Kenobi series she did meet him when he rescued her from does drug smugglers who that one female Inquisitor who was trying to draw out Obi Wan from hiding so how can this be?
