Back in 2015 when the Carson and Inglewood projects were going head to head, Spanos wanted his and Davis project to get the approval over Kroenke so he gave STL a weapon to shut down Kroenke in court.

Construction on SoFi Stadium began in late 2016 and is believed to be the most expensive sports arena of its kind in history, with a price tag estimated at $5 billion. The project was privately funded by Rams ownership. Sep 8, 2020

Rams, Chargers unveil $5 billion SoFi Stadium at virtual ceremony ahead of ...

If Rams ownership didnt use help from anyone else to build their stadium.
I would suddenly be on the Rams side of this.
Almost every owner gets help from taxpayers or whoever.
NFL has deep pockets as well. So fuck them. They wanted back into the LA market & they got it. Pay up bitches! & when I say bitches I mean Goodell!

**"The sources said Jones argued that he has been dealing with the legal issues, too, and indicated that the problems were not the fault of Kroenke or the league but were because one owner's deposition was shaky. That owner's name was not mentioned."**

How much you want to bet the owner's name starts with an S and ends in -panos.

So in a nutshell when the league decided to awarded Kronke a move to LA he signed a agreement that he would cover most of the legal costs of a lawsuit the city of St. Louis filed against the NFL. Now Kronke wants to back out of the agreement, which in turn could end up costing the other owners millions.

It should be noted we are in the situation because someone (Spanos) affiliated with the rival Carson project (Chargers and Raiders stadium proposal) gave the St. Louis authorities a outline on how the Rams violated the league's relocation policy. Kronke's lawyers are now arguing that he should no longer be on the hook for the legal bills because of that email and housing the Chargers for a $1 a year. They're not flat out saying it, but it sounds like someone affiliated with the Chargers tried to screw over Kronke after Stan agreed to house their team.

Enjoy the Super Bowl this year, LA. I’m guessing the other owners aren’t going to be so benevolent next time you want one.

All i want from my teams owner is to stay the fuck away from tbe field til the games over. Every god damn time i see him on the sideline in the 4th quarter i know its about to be directly followed by us giving up 21 pts in 5 mibutes to lose by 4.

How tough is it to keep your happy ass in the owners box til the games over then celebrate a win by making out with your son like every other owner??

Yeah, sure. Jerry has been trying to get the Super Bowl back in Arlington for 11 years. It’s nowhere in anyone’s radar. Ignoring the fact that there are 31 really things skinned millionaires with teams that are raking in money regardless of what is happening in LA is incredibly myopic on your part. Super Bowl makes money wherever it’s played. Owners want to be coddled and when one of them crosses the line, the others remember.

Basically Spanos tried to sabotage Kroenke (to whom he now pays rent), so his competing Carson project would win approval, and in the process opens up the NFL to legal issues. Kroenke sure gets some blame, for willingly breaking a lease to move the team. And St.Louis deserves some compensation, article also indicates that Kroenke tried to settle out of court but St.Louis refused the offer.

1st off the NFL wanted the Rams in LA so they helped the Rams out of the St. Louis deal.
I am not shedding a single tear for the NFL.
Now St. Louis I would get being mad. But the NFL could block a move just like they did when another team was gonna go to LA. If Seattle lost their franchise no NFL team would ever be back there. (to small a market) NFL is behind the scenes pulling strings. if they have to pay 10's of millions for they wanted all along. Well who cares. Sounds like ultimately St. Louis needs to be more mad at the NFL than the Rams Owners.

Just an outside perspective. (no dog in this fight)

Not keen to get involved in picking an ownership side but...the Courts have told all owners to supply emails and documents relalting to the relocation issues. 5 franchises, (including the Cowboys), declined to supply the information requested in the time period allocated. Those franchises have been fined by the Court in St. Louis. Expecting the Rams to pay those fines under the NFL's relocation agreement to pay lawsuit settlement costs is questionable, which is possibly why the Rams are seeking a legal review of the agreement.
