Brian Hartman of Alexandria Bay eclipsed the 2009 state record walleye by more than 1.5 pounds when he caught an 18-pound, 2-ounce walleye from the St. Lawrence River on May 5 using a swimbait. The fish was 32 inches.

This is a fish I struggle to catch. And this guy got it in my backyard.

Wow. That's an amazing fish.

I don't think I've ever even caught a walleye. I've never targeted them but you would think I would have accidentally hooked into one over the years at some point.
