It's going to take me some extra time to sort out my top 25 this week. It was a bad week to be ranked towards the top of my poll last week.

Of my top 14 last week:

7 lost
2 were on a bye
3 were unconvincing in victory

While I certainly appreciate the props on y'all ranking my Gators in the top 5... We are absolutely positively Not a top 5 team!

If only we had a discussion thread, and if only we had been doing this for several years, maybe people wouldn't post anything that isn't a poll in the voting thread.

I don't get ranking Texas Tech, but not ranking Ole Miss.

Both are 2 loss teams, neither has any overly impressive wins, Ole Miss has the better losses, and Ole Miss destroyed Texas Tech in Houston this season. I get the SEC chaps a lot of asses around here, but be logical.

Yeah, I almost ranked Ole Miss again(had them ranked before losing to LSU a couple weeks ago). But yeah, if you're ranking TTU you should definitely be ranking Ole Miss.

I don't think that's a must. Since that first game, the teams have looked pretty different. Ole Miss was absolutely destroyed by Bama and LSU and struggled to beat lowly Kent State and Arkansas. Tech hasn't looked necessarily like world-beaters, but they have looked better IMO. Either way, they'd both be in the 20s, so it's pretty much a moot point.

Sure, but Bama is destroying everyone, and LSU is a top 5/6 team. It's not like Tech is beating either of those teams, or keeping it close. Ole Miss hasn't been efficient in their wins, except for the Tech game, and that game probably was closer than the score indicating, having watched most of it. I didn't rank either team, but would still have Ole Miss ahead, albeit it would be slightly.

I have Wisconsin staying the same even though they lost just because so many teams ranked higher than them lost.

Also, whoever has Florida as a top 5 team shouldn't be counted because they obviously don't know college football.

Ok.

Florida is not a top 5 team yet. Even k8tie or however she spells her name on here says that, and she's a fanatic. They struggled mightily with an awful Vandy team that has beaten nobody and been blown out by South Carolina and UGA. They should easily be behind michigan, Texas, and arguably UCF and Oregon.

Secondly, do you honestly believe in your heart that Kentucky is better than UGA? Come on, now.

Thirdly, how can you justify ranking Stanford, San Diego State, and USC but not 4-2 Maryland? I'd argue their resume is better than those 3.

Finally, do you really think Penn State is that much worse than San Diego State? Really??

Voters should take into account that the following teams are rated better in TOTAL DEFENSE than the Oklahoma Sooners:
UTEP
Arkansas
Kansas
North Carolina
