A mellow fellow
As far as individual Awards and accomplishments(NFL picks, Heisman, etc) USC has the edge.
As far as team Awards and accomplishments (Bowl appearances, championships, etc) Bama has the edge.
The only way to decide is to see who's entire history is more fascinating. Because otherwise, its pretty dead even. The history between these 2 teams themselves is interesting, if you wanna look it up. Changed football in the South forever. Plus both of their history in the Rose Bowl separately is quite interesting.
Throw that in with USC "winning" the 2003 National Championship without playing in it, even with the BCS choosing 1 and 2, and Alabama being refused for being an all white team in 1966, in which the Bear himself said was the greatest team he's ever coached, only to watch Michigan State and Notre Dame play for all the marbles and finish in the Infamous "10-10 Tie", they've had their fair share of nondeserving and deserving title chances. (I only add this because of the shit Alabama takes for claimed titles, even though everyone does it.)
The 1970 game that changed college football in the Southeast forever, in which USC beat Alabama handily, was avenged in 1971(which Alabama has been famous for on multiple occasions recently) when Alabama returned the favor and gave USC a taste of their own medicine running the wishbone and topping USC in their house, like the Trojans did the previous year to the Tide.
Im going to read up some more tomorrow on both teams, and add to this thread.
