YOU CAN VOTE FOR UP TO 8 RBs

Only 3 DAYS to vote (Sat Night) - You can change your votes until deadline.

Tie breaker is who had a more rushing YPC in their career.

Here is the list of the last 16 Heisman winning running backs.

2009 - Mark Ingram - Alabama
2005 - Reggie Bush - USC
1999 - Ron Dayne - Wisconsin
1998 - Ricky Williams - Texas
1995 - Eddie George - Ohio State
1994 - Rashaan Salaam - Colorado
1988 - Barry Sanders - Ohio State
1985 - Bo Jackson - Auburn
1983 - Mike Rozier - Nebraska
1982 - Herschel Walker - Georgia
1981 - Marcus Allen - USC
1980 - George Rogers - South Carolina
1979 - Charles White - USC
1978 - Billy Sims - Oklahoma
1977 - Earl Campbell - Texas
1976 - Tony Dorsett - Pittsburgh

This is not based on their NFL performance or just their Heisman season (unless it is their only season). This is based on their college football career.

Career?

Ron Dayne has more career yardage than anyone.

Best season?

Barry Sanders, and no one else is even close.

Some, or most, of those guys listed didn’t have an opportunity to play 4 years of college ball.

Those that did have the gaudy career numbers, Ron Dayne, Ricky Williams, Tony Dorset, etc....

Those that only shined for a season or two, Barry Sanders, Billy Sims, Earl Campbell, due to injuries, lack of starting time, leaving early for the NFL, or whatever, aren’t gonna have those statistics like the 4 year guys.

My vote, only because I watched him live and in person multiple times....

Barry Sanders.

I mean the way football is evolved it is very difficult to say.

You have guys like Ricky Williams and Ron Dayne who put up unbelievable stats in their entire college careers but then you have players that had great careers and put up ridiculous numbers in specifically one season like Barry Sanders. Too difficult to say and there will be bias.

So my top 5 are:

Hershel Walker
Barry Sanders
Ricky Williams
Ron Dayne
Bo Jackson

If we were doing voting on just the Heisman season...Barry would win in a landslide but he isn't the best college RB of all-time bc of one season.

There is only one right answer...Herschel Walker (since Archie Griffin is in the conversation :) )

I actually don't think the RB position has changed that much. How we look at the QBs today does. Earl Campbell would not win over Doug Williams today.

I think Bo Jackson is easily the best athlete on the list, but I don't know if I would put him at top 5 RB from the list.

IMO, Reggie Bush has been the best Heisman winners since 2000.

Herschel could kick Bo's ass with ease.

I bet you could replace Bo with anyone else on that list (even 1982 Herschel) and it would be true.
