Nice win for the Sox. Nice to see Madrigal and his .215 batting average. Nice job by Kopech and Timmy.

I have to assume that TLR pulled Kopech after only 4 innings due to his high pitch count. Would have like to have him go 5 to get the dub, but I understand he's still working on the stamina. The pen for the most part did its job.

Kopech is like Cease was two years ago and maybe a little ahead of that schedule.

These days .215 would fit right in on the Sox

Yes - I think Liam's got onto a streak - the kind of which shows him as the best closer in baseball. But that tweet is batshit funny.

He's waayyy ahead of that. You can judge his pitch count running up because of one game in that type of weather.

I've seen his other starts too. But you may be right about being way ahead of Cease.

Well, this series is certainly (somewhat) making up for our bad luck this season with hard contact not resulting in hits. We've had some really clutch weak ground balls that have beat the shift and that fist shot from Pollock just now to take the lead couldn't have been hit softer. lol

I mean, Kopech has 1.17 ERA, an astounding 308 ERA+ and has already accumulated a 1.2 WAR. Cease posted a 4+ and 111 ERA+ 2 years ago. Kopech also seemingly never gives up home runs. Where Cease struggled with that a lot early on.

I realize Kopech's earned run numbers won't remain that gorgeous for the entire year. However, to this point relative to Cease at this point two years ago, he's blowing him away. Kopech already looks like the real deal and not at all like a guy who still needs fine tuning.

God. This fucking team just cannot, to save their lives right now, get that game busting hit with RISP. It takes SO much to score a run right now. We need THREE damn hits in an inning for ONE RUN to cross the plate. Nobody can put a ball in the gap or hit it out of the damn ball park. Like, fuckin a!

Remember, the flip side of all of baseball not hitting (as they aren't right now, historically low league wide batting average) is a lot of pitchers have gaudy stat lines right now
