Just realized we didn't have a series thread posted. Figured might as well get one going, even tho this game is just about over. Sox winning huge, 12-1, going into the bottom of the 9th.

One of Keuchel's better outings this year. Nothing spectacular, but an early homer aside, he kept the O's hitters off balance for most of his 7 innings pitched. Kopech threw for 1 inning, smoked the side, with several pitches clocking at 100. And the Sox brought their sticks tonight. 12 runs, but only 2 dingers, so they were doing it mostly with hits and walks. As almost always, they left a lotta men on base, but this happens when you're hitting well and taking walks, but not leaving the yard a lot. Just a solid all around game from the Good Guys.

Need to finish this one off. Giolito was left in there just a couple batters too long. It was easy to see he was starting to lose it. We're still up 6-2 tho, so let's take another from the birds.

I'm guessing because he had to come in during the 8th with the bags jammed, altho it was for just one batter. Had TLR waited to put him in the 9th, he definitely wouldn't have gotten credit for the save.

Ok, this makes no sense. Kopech comes in for the 6th, strikes out the side (as he did the other night as well), but TLR sends Codi Heuer out for the 7th. Nothing against Codi, but why not let Michael pitch another inning. He was effortless in his brief performance. It's like watching a man pitch against boys. And as I type, Heuer walks the leadoff batter. Sheesh.

Reminds me in one sense of Renteria, who I often felt tried to overmanage, primarily in the way he utilized the BP. TLR is better at how he distributes the pen, but I just wish we could have seen 2-3 innings of Kopech out there. I've never seen him looking so smooth and pitch with such little effort. Let's hope Hendriks can close this baby out.
