So they started voting for the AS game, who do you think deserves to get in on the Sox? And who will get in? Not always the same people of course...

I feel like Lynn is obvious, may even start the game. Hendriks. Maybe Moncada. Maybe Rodon.

Kinda telling it's pitching heavy...

Assuming Lynn maintains his dominance, he has a shot at not only being named to the AS team, but starting the actual game itself. I also like Rodon's chances, but again, this is assuming he maintains. Hendriks is going to be in direct competition with the Yanks Chapman, but that's only if they select one closer. There's a chance both could be picked.

Outside shots: Moncada, Abreu, Anderson, Madrigal - none will likely be voted onto the team, so their only chance is to be selected afterwards. If TA can stick around .300 or so, I think his chances will be the best.

Lynn is a lock. Hendrix is a near lock.

Moncada - is probably the best 3rd baseman in the AL - so may make the team via popular vote. Abreu, Anderson, and Rodon have a good shot.

I am just blown away at what our pitching has been thus far this year. Competition is pretty stiff at SP as there's a lot of players sporting some good numbers. My guess is we have 3-4 pitchers in between starting and relief and possibly only one bat, and maybe none if we pull 4 pitchers. We're definitely a sum of its parts team right now which doesn't favor well for stat-driven things like all-star games. It's sad that Abreu might not make it.

Usually the fan voting is a carry over from the year before production, but I think you are correct - in order to have every team represented at the All Stars - guys who would be put on the team based on performance won't make it and things like over representation in one position over another also is a factor.
