Many GMs feel he will be traded this year and, according to MLB.com, the Padres are the most likely landing spot with 8 votes.

I don’t see any team willing to give away what the Nats are asking for him. IMO it would take also taking on the contract of either Strasburg or Corbin to get it done. Not many teams have the farm system and the budget to get a deal done.

Yeah, Nats still have two years of control after this year, so they can ask for the moon now and see if anyone bites, but he'll probably stay put.

I'm curious to see how LA handles Ohtani, who only has one year of control left, and they could legitimately set themselves up if they chose to move him.

The Angels make the Mets of 2016-2021 look like a well run franchise. They’ll probably sign him to a mega deal and then have 90% of their payroll tied up in Ohtani, Trout and Rendon and wonder why they still suck

Someone is gonna make it happen.

A few of these teams could really use a left bat as well.

That's half a trade idea. Who do you give up for him? Maybe Kyle Lewis, Taylor Trammell, the top couple prospects and a young pitcher?

Sadly the Mets are a fit but there's no way that trade goes down in division.

The Mets don't have 4-5 young players unless they just unloaded their whole farm system. They did the right thing getting Vogelbach. He could be a huge pickup

Soto is practically still a prospect. You trade whoever for that guy.

Yeah that's true. And I don't know the Mets farm system, but I'm not sure they would even have enough to give them. Everyone on the major league roster is 27 or older so I don't think they'd want any of those guys. But even if they do, like you said I don't think Washington would want to see him in the division for the next 15 years.

Daniel Vogelbach???

Oh yeah, he was a HUGE pickup all right, all 270 lbs of him.

Dude is a career .200 hitter.

Maybe Milwaukee, but I don't know if they'd have the money to sign him to a long term deal

Haha, yeah he's a large man but he's a very good lefthanded DH.

Honestly didn't know much about him, since baseball is dead to me, but a quick peek at his stats didn't bowl me over. Really only played one full season in Seattle back in 2019. 30 homers that year looks impressive but then he's only got 61 for his career. Career .745OPS, career .408 SLG, career .213 avg

Where's the very good part? Honestly there are some stats that I'm not up on these days, so maybe I'm missing something

You have to look at his splits. Against Righties he's got a .359 OBP and .817 OPS. He's terrible against lefties (.479 OPS or something) so he'd have to be part of a platoon at DH.

Yeah the more I look at it the Mariners might be a team that actually has enough young guys that Washington would want.
