Way to many opposite field pop ups are leaving the yard

You make a compelling case. No need to even bother backing it up with boring stats or even examples.

My #Hot take is batters are doubling down on lifting the ball as a response to the current pitching and defensive dynamics.

Pop ups to the opposite field continue to leave the yard. The baseball has got to be juiced

Could be, but still too many opposite field pop ups are leaving the yard. Something is going on.

Quite bluntly I think the hitters are a lot better than they were 10 years ago. The ball is probably more conducive to HR's, won't deny it, but there's been a lot of excellent hitting talent entering MLB in recent years.

Just seems so much more prevalent this season. The owners know that fans love homeruns and it brings them to the park. After all the money they lost last year going fan-less I wonder if they concocted this scheme to try and recoup some of their losses. Take the Giants for example; for years the hardest park to hit homers in and this year they lead the league in home runs.

The Giants moved the fences in this year.

Only a small portion of the fence got moved. That doesn’t explain it. Did you happen to see Devers’ first home run for Boston today? Straight up in the air behind the shortstop and it went out

That HR went 447 feet.

That was his second one to Center. His first one was a pop up to shortstop that carried over the left field fence just barely

Shortest fence in baseball.
Just seems to me that the owners did something to the ball to try and recoup the losses from last year. Fans love the homerun.

I think you should look at the numbers.

In 2019, there were multiple teams with 300 home runs. Your Giants were second this year with 240. That would have been 12th in baseball in 2019.

This year ten teams hit 182 home runs or less. In 2019, only five did.

Sure seems like a lot of opposite field pop ups are leaving the yard though.

And yet. You're wrong again as bronco just showed you.
He did show me some stats that showed homeruns were down but, still, I've never seen so many opposite field pop ups leave the yard.
