I do agree about your point if Oregon beat ASU...Utah would definitely be in with UGA loss but I still think Utah's chances are still very good (higher than Oklahoma's and Baylor by a good bit). While I don't think their resume is necessarily more impressive, it's still not a wide margin and Utah has been more "dominant" in their wins with a better loss. The committee seems to value more balanced teams and Utah is the more balanced team with a top 5 defense and still like a top 30 offense.

Unless Oklahoma clobbers Baylor, I would take Utah's chances of making the playoff. Oklahoma needs to win in style imo

Definitely the case without regard to opponent quality. Baylor and OU both had four conference wins by a touchdown or less.

Baylor has eeked out wins by:
Iowa State 23-21
Texas Tech 33-30 (2 OTs)
West Virginia 17-14
TCU 29-23 (3 OTs)

OU has wins of:
Texas 34-27
Iowa State 42-41
TCU 28-24
Baylor 34-31.

(Hmmm, didn't realize Iowa State and Texas Tech are on both lists.)

Utah's only win by single digits was:
Washington 33-28

I think as of right now Utah has the better case, but if both Utah and Oklahoma win the Championship then the Baylor win might be enough to move them past. There is at least a solid case for it.

It would be awesome if Utah got into the playoffs. It is obvious that Utah would dominate LSU so bad the Burrow would no longer be considered a 1st round pick.

You have no idea. UTEP hasn't won a game against a P5 team or a bowl game since the 60's. The Vikings haven't won a championship since before the Super Bowl era.

So you've actually seen a coupla games? That is Utah's problem. People who have not seen the games have no idea of the level that Utah is playing on. PAC after dark is rough when many games start at 10:00~ Eastern...
