Bwhahaha and back to Pippen. So cute

You’re obsessed. Every team has had a Batman and Robin. In Lebrons case it was many more

You’re just showing you know nothing of ball. Lemme guess you played in 5th grade?
Excellent goal post moving but they are heavier than they look so be careful. Let's stick to the facts
*Pippen (and Phillip) were leaving and MJ quit/retired
*you claim if they stayed MJ stays

You disagree because you've been brainwashed by LeESPN narratives shoved down your throats because other than "Pippen" and "career stats" there's not one single thing you pro LeBron Homers have brought to the table to back up your opinion that LeBron is close to Jordan.

Remember: For centuries people believed the Earth was the center of the universe. Eventually, however, they smartened up. Eventually, so will you LeBron Homers.
are you capable of offering a comment beyond a couple sentences without lying? Here you offered 2 back to back. Plenty comments can be made in support of Lebron....and there are no Lebron homers here.

There are a few MJ extreme fanboys though.

The sport has had one of them dominating for basically my entire life. When Lebron finally hangs it up the NBA has some real adjusting to do.
Oh dear lord, I hope we don't hear constant references to the next LeBron like we did to the next Jordan when he retired.
Anyone else remember Harold Minor being touted as Baby Jordan?

Explain how Jordan not winning a series without Pippen is supposed to be a knock against MJ?

I'll wait.

PS: I love how you imply that Pippen was the reason for Jordan's success (lolol) while you refer to "prime" Luka, AD, Wade, etc. as merely 'really good'.

You make zero sense BUT... I'll wait for your explanation to my question about Scottie.
Ok...seems simple enough. If MJ does not have Pippen - an all time great - he not only couldn't win a series but not even a +.500 season. Hell, he even quit when Pippen would be gone.

Glad the lie came a little later as I consider those guys elite.....of course you forget Lebron made the Finals with Z as his #2 AND won series with Mo Williams as the #2.

Oh, wait, you didn't forget the latter you compared Mo to Pippen. THAT is next level comedy.

This idea that you believe I said this (or even implied it) is beyond crazy. Actually you MISSED my point entirely.

What you need to do is sloooow down and actually comprehend what I wrote before you get the itchy trigger fingers and start typing absolute nonsense.
I'm an adult and if I confused you and the other batshit crazy MJ lover that's my bad. See how easy that is?

At this point you're just a clown show.

What am I lying about? That you're not spewing LeESPN narratives? That's an absolute fact: ALL you've offered is "Pippen" and "career stats".

Prove me wrong: Tell me why you believe LeBron is close to Jordan.

I'll wait...
I point out each lie as it happens so if you want to know go back and look.

I've told you why Lebron can be compared to MJ and can make a case for him as GOAT....many times. as have many.

What is your point, clown show?

If Krause paid Pippen what he was demanding and Phil was convinced to stick around another year, yes Jordan would have signed on for another year and the Bulls would have made it 7 in 9 years (especially considering the 99 season was shortened)... and low BB IQ fans like you would still think LeBron is "close".

:pound:

Also, clown show: Jordan didn't quit. Turn off LeESPN... Jordan fans are too astute to fall for their narratives like elementary hoops fans like you.
I guess props you at least admitted MJ stays with those 2 and only quits/retires wiuthout when things would be hard.

Baby steps, Emoji Boy.

See this is why you're a clown... back in the 80's, 90's and 00's stars and teams wanted to stay together. That's how they rolled back then.

It's not a "negative" that Jordan wanted the same core intact, clown show. How long did Larry/McHale/Parish stay together? Magic/Jabbar/Worthy? Isiah/Dumars/Laimbeer, Payton and Kemp, Stockton and Malone, Duncan/Parker/Ginobili, Shaq/Kobe... Jordan and Pippen?

Get it?

Probably not, because you've already exposed your lack of knowledge of the game and its history, and instead, just run around regurgitating LeESPN talking points.

In fact it wasn't until your hero LeNotCloseToJordan and his "Decision" that things started to change... and players started bouncing around looking for the EASY way to a Championship instead of building chemistry, rhythm and comradery with the same core group of guys year after year.

And here's a NEWSFLASH for you, sherlock: The GS Warriors followed that same model, and wouldn't you know it: Steph Curry is the greatest "winner" of LeBron's Era, not LeBron.

((SIDE NOTE: The guy YOU foolishly believe is "close" to Jordan isn't ven the greatest Winner of his era. :pound: ))

You have no clue. You have nothing but a clown show... on full display in this thread.
very early lie so missed nearly entire comment, Tommy.

Smacking you around with logic, facts and reason does not equal clown.

But for you lying does = a liar.

If the clown is going to repeatedly call me a liar he needs to back it up or sit in the corner and STHU.
I point out the lie each time, Tommy.

either save them for the end so I can read your entire comment or better would be stop lying.

Is that really how you see it? "I'm" attacking them? Perhaps you should read through this thread before you post any more.

I am not "spam" posting... I am "responding" to the posters who are responding to my posts AND this is my thread, so how can I be spamming my own thread?

My argument here is that LeBron James is NOT "close" to Jordan... and I have laid out detailed, logical, fact-filled arguments throughout this entire thread... and what I have repeatedly gotten back is "Pippen" and "career stats".

You say MJ vs. LeBron is a great debate? Then HAVE ONE.

Tell my why you believe LeBron is "close" to Jordan? I have asked that direct question to several posters who have posted religiously in this thread and I'm STILL waiting for an argument that refuses my contention.
I can agree it's not attacking. But you are irrational and emotional along with being an extreme MJ fanboy. You keep asking for arguments to prove Lebron is in the discussion and like any irrational person you simply ignore the facts

Glad you saved the lie for the end, though....once again I will tall you what it was. That you are still waiting for an argument to refute your opinion. You are not waiting, you just ignore the facts as it seems you may think if you do not fawn all over MJ he might see it and not be your friend.

49 pages in and you STILL have not provided your reasoning for believing why LeBron is "close" to Jordan.

Do we wait another 49 pages, or you gonna defend your position because I say he's not close and all I've gotten in return is "Pippen", "career stats" and empty LeESPN rhetoric.

Tell me why you think James is close to Jordan?

And PLEASE spare me with the childish insults. I have been very civil and ONLY respond in kind after I am insulted or attacked.

Regardless, I'll wait for your argument to support LeBron.
lie rule again...he and so many others have provided examples. You just ignore those facts.

I believe Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all time.

That is all I am going to say about the subject.

I disagree with some of what has been said here and I agree with some of what has been said.

You can have a debate without having a meltdown. I believe John Stockon is a better PG than Isiah Thomas and Steph Curry. Other posters disagreed and we kept it civil and respectful. They stated their case and I did mine. Nobody called anybody a name or acted like a spoiled brat. I actually learned something about Isiah Thomas I didn't know because I am open minded.

Hopefully there is more constructive debate about these types of topics. You won't be involved though because you aren't interested in having productive conversation, nor do you have an open mind. You are an agenda posting instigator and a bad one at that.

Have a nice day!
I did choose IT when @Stakesarehigh wanted more discussion on that but not like I'd offer much pushback if someone thinks it's Stockton.

Here's something that hasn't been answered with anything other than "the 2011 Cavs only won 19 games"

My Contention
LeBron James is not close to Jordan.

Evidence
One (1) of the reasons is because Jordan lost only one (1) series to a team he was favored to beat while LeBron did so five (5) times, including the loss to Orlando in 2009.

This is a fact.

Challenge
LeBron supporters excuse that loss because they say LeBron had a "bad supporting cast"

My Counter
It is virtually impossible for a TEAM to accomplish the Records/Stats/Ratings (listed below) with anything less than a great supporting cast ESPECIALLY when LeBron's 2009 "individual" production was basically the same as his 2008 production on a 45 win team.

The Historical context/perspective
1) Going back the last 50 years every "team" in the EC that won 65 or more games won the Championship that year... except for LeBron's 2009 Cavs. The list includes the 1983 Sixers, the 1986 Celtics, the 2013 Heat, and Jordan's 1992/1996/1997 Bulls.

2) LeBron's 2009 Cavs were one (1) of only 9 "teams" in NBA history to win 74 of their first 90 games in a season (basically the regular season and first 2 rounds of the playoffs, more or less): The 67 Sixers, 72 Lakers, 86 Celtics, 96 and 97 Bulls, 16 and 17 Warriors, 25 Thunder, and the 09 Cavs. Of those 9 "teams" only the 2016 Warriors and LeBron's 2009 Cavs failed to win the Championship, and ONLY the 2009 Cavs failed to at least make it TO the Finals.

3) The 2008 Cavs won only 45 games even though LeBron's "individual" production that season was nearly identical to his 2009 season (the year LeBron fans claim he single-handedly caried a "bad supporting cast" to 66 wins)... which begs the question: Why didn't LeBron carry the 08 Cavs "team" to such a dominating season since his "individual" production was virtually the same BOTH years??

All verifiable facts.

The odds
4) The 2009 Cavs were given an 87%-88% chance/odds of beating the Magic (who were wilthout their All Star PG_. This Cavs loss is considered a HISTORIC upset, per the modern day betting odds.

A fact that is verifiable.

The Records
66-16 overall
39-2 at Home
26-4 vs. much tougher WC
26-5 after the AS break, and 34-5 prior to the ECF loss
16-3 in back-to-back games
8-0 during the first 2 playoff rounds (winning by an average margin of 15.5 PPG and 18.3 PPG, respectively)

All facts.

"Team" Stats/Ratings
#4 Offense
#3 Defense
#2 3PT%
#1 Opp. PPG allowed
#1 Overall Rating

Again, all facts.

Given the extensive facts, stats, odds and historical perspective listed above, is there a counter-argument (that also includes the same substance) to suggest the 2009 Cavs were a "bad supporting cast"?

You say it's been answered over and over again (with facts and substance, not just opinion). Perhaps I missed it? Can it be presented again? How about some post #'s to reference?
Not sure about anyone else but I had to stop after your first comment as you broke the lie rule. And before you lie again and claim I don't tell you what the lie was I will tell you yet again.....There have been many other comments other than "Cavs only won 19 games".

Hope I didn't miss much.

Yep, that stuff started when he was at USC. Imo, it's part of why he only lasted a few years.

His college coach, George Raveling said, "I always felt like the worst thing to happen to Harold was the 'Baby Jordan' tag".

Only thing that can save more comparisons like that might be it will be harder to find another Lebron.

No, not saying that as he's so much better than MJ, but just his size and what he could do at his size. Though we could see someone added to a potential GOAT discussion who ends up being far from worthy I guess.

Kobe was pretty much slightly discounted MJ. We'll see if another player 'looks like' LeBron the same way. Feels less likely but who knows.

LeBron has the perfect physical construction for basketball, be hard to imagine someone similar but someone like Wemby was hard to imagine too lol

Why did everyone think he was the next Jordan?

I don't remember to be honest. I remember he was a great dunker but thats it.
