I’m not exactly sure who I would prioritize to sign, but I would love to see the defensive scheme shift back to run stopping dominance. I want another fat guy to collapse the edge like Red Bryant used to.

Very glad to have McDougald back for 3 more years. However, I wonder if this means we are confident Kam cannot play again or if it's just an insurance policy.

So are we going to make any moves?

I don't care if we make big splash signings. But I hope we aren't going to wait until the top guys are all gone and pick from the bargain bin at inflated prices.

One big splash is fine but haven't heard anything. Kind of depressing seeing all these teams making moves.

What moves have been made so far by other teams that you wish the Hawks would've made? Most of the big deals have been for QBs up to this point, and that's certainly not a market we are interested in. I'm not lamenting Graham leaving, same with P-Rich. I laugh at the money being given to Sam Bradford. That G got $13M a year?? Nah, no thanks.

I think we need to make a good run at re-signing Sheldon Richardson and then Suh if that doesn't pan out. No way should we be tossing around stupid money just because some other teams are doing it.

Well we need a LG. We need a RB. We need a WR. We need a CB. We need a TE.

That's a lot of needs. I'm fine with waiting on WR and LG if those markets are inflated.

But would you have been upset if we signed Hyde for the money he got?

The league year hasn't even officially started yet though, and it's like we already missed out? I guess I just don't see the panic.

LG. I don't want a LG for $13M a year, no way. That guy could already be on the roster anyway in Ethan Pocic.

RB. We have Carson, Prosise, McKissic, and maybe Rawls. If we really "need" one, there are some out there. I would have been ok with Hyde, but is it really him or nothing? It's a really deep RB draft this year as well.

WR. Jordy Nelson is out there. I am certainly glad we didn't give Richardson that contract he's getting in DC. No way. He's a role player.

TE. We already knew we were going to need one here after the anticipated loss of Graham. ASJ is being talked about as someone who will get a look here.

I just see no reason to spend stupid money because it seems to be the trend. Malcolm Butler getting $12M a year?? Trumaine Johnson $15M/yr? About the only contract I've seen so far that I wish the Hawks could take is Muhammad Wilkerson for 1 year, $5M in GB...and you gotta wonder why he agreed to that so quickly.

Just to be clear, I'm not panicking. I am concerned because this is the first offseason under this regime in which I don't feel there is a clear plan. That is an emotional feeling, I fully concede. And I have no reason to believe that Schneider has all of the sudden forgotten how to do his job.

FTR, it's not that we missed out on any of the players that have already signed something. It's more that I don't feel like we are targeting anyone.

McKinnon just got $30M for 4 years from the 49ers, who let Hyde walk to Cleveland for $15M over 3 years.

I think the RB value is on the first contract, not the 2nd.

Hyde's contract is pretty good. That is stupid money for McKinnon unless that money is based on a lot of incentives being reached.

I Do beleive some of that is incentive based but haven't seen the details.

Our LG may already be on the roster.
Draft a RB.
Draft a WR.
Draft a CB...
and probably draft a TE.

He can play both strong and free safety... Insurance in case they trade Thomas? Who knows...

Im conflicted with this.

On one hand There are some Fa's that could have helped our teams that went to others( Crabtree, Norwell, Nelson, Soldier etc.)

On the other hand I know that we have a good roster and we might be keeping that money for others.

It's a hard thing to wrap your head around, you know

This draft sets up well for the Seahawks, three of those positions are deep, OG, RB, and CB. TE and WR seem to have some talent as well.

With the cap space you have it was unlikely you were going to spenders in free agency. But they should get some high comp picks next year.
