That was my first thought too.

These owner comments just confirm what we have known all along. Goodell could have been the puncher in that elevator and he would retain his job because he is good at one thing: making his bosses money. Of course for the fans this is another blow from a league that understands that they can do whatever they want and we'll still tune in on Sunday

Ask yourself this question: when was the last time you thought to yourself "Goodell got this one right". Wonder what Sean Payton is thinking as he remembers how he got a year based on "if you didn't know you should have"
