Scouts should be gone then
Drafting Fred Warner, Kittle, and Purdy in late rounds and getting Deebo in rd2 means you get at least one really boneheaded draft pick forgiven, I'd imagine.

Still, I'd imagine at least 2/3 of this board would've taken Fields at #3.

I don't remember but did anyone even have Trey is first besides 49ers?

Amazing how the Jets and Niners changed that whole draft. I think Jones would have been a good fit in San Fran but I'm still baffled by them trading up in that draft class when there was such a drop-off after Lawrence.

Well Lynch was a football player, not a trigger man.

Yeah, it was an interesting move.

Jones was the best fit left.

Fields the best prospect left.

and they took Lance.

For obvious reasons I'm glad San Fran took Lance over Fields. :suds:

They've been pretty hit and miss in the 1st of late. A few less inspired outcomes, but a lot of investment in the trenches.

2021: (3) Trey Lance
2020: (14) Javon Kinlaw, (25) Brandon Aiyuk
2019: (2) Nick Bosa
2018: (9) Mike McGlinchey
2017: (3) Solomon Thomas, (31) Reuben Foster
2016: (7) DeForest Buckner, (28) Joshua Garrett
2015: (17) Arik Armstead

Yah, They've definitely hit on the lines... Even drafting top 10 for quite a few years it's still not always easy to get solid or elite on field players.

That said, Trey Lance was a bust. Will be interesting to see how the 9ers do when they have to throw huge money at Bosa.
