Couple more deals goin' on. We signed Chase Anderson to a 1 yr deal. The Phillies also signed Matt Moore to a 1 yr, $3mil deal. WE keep Realmuto and Gregorius. A's take LHP Irvin and we lose Kyle Holder to the Reds. Maybe they are trying a little better this time around and not so much dumpster diving. Maybe.

Anderson, 33, seems to be worth a shot with a 4.06 career ERA but Matt Moore's ERA before he escaped to Japan: 2016, 4.08, 2017, 5.52, 2018, 7.79. He'll fit right in.

That was a proposal last month by MLB to delay the season one month and start on April 29th. It was rejected by the players association so spring training should start about Feb. 16. It seems like a good choice since Covid case numbers have been declining for the past three weeks so things are looking up. It's still troubling that cases still number 100,000/day.

We can only hope that testing will be thorough and frequent and results stay in the negative among teams. I'm longing to get to the ballpark! Just read that no fans allowed for ST games. Had been thinking a drive to Clearwater.

Then hope either our 4 or 5 can reach double digits in wins.

It would be nice and is probably a prerequisite in them overperforming this season.
If those three pitchers can get us 50 wins, I'll take that.

What we mentioned so far plus an ace in the hole, something unusual like Velasquez suddenly finding control and winning 18 , or a new arrival from the farm who turns out to be brilliant. A team to go with Harper. I don't ask for much.
