I like bringing Allen in as he knows Turner and his system. I am not sure if its a straight up 5th or a swap of 5th rounders. I believe its straight up for a 5th. That stings a bit and only leaves us with 6 picks at this time. I would rather have offered a 7th as clearly one of the 4 Panther QBs would have been cut now that they have Walker.

perhaps they did and the panthers said no . if you ask me the guy started last year and giving up a 5th rounder for a great BU / starting qb seems like a good deal to me

So I am guessing we will have 3 QBs on the roster with Smith on IR again? I doubt we have 3 active QBs on the roster but we always could.

With the cap, per Grant Paulsen, he stated his sources stated we were likely done with free agency and moving on so I doubt it would kill our cap.

They needed at least a backup, bringing in Allen helps Haskins with the offense. Remember Haskins can't work with the coaches now because of the CBA.
