Well, it's not surprising news, but it's too bad for the Pens and their fans. Should be a great series against the Bolts.

Oh well. The boys have managed to get this far without him. Hopefully they can win four more games and then the possibility of Sid's return becomes more likely.

I'm not about to write him off for this series, though. If this round goes 5+ games... there is always a possibility he could return. If it goes that long game six could be almost three weeks away.

In any case, coaching, defense and goaltending have gotten them to where they are.

Post Gazette and Bylsma seem pretty certain he is out for this round.

And bylsma is probably right. I just find it funny that he's been adamant that it's not his decision when Sid returns, and that there is no time-line. He's made it clear it is up to the doctors when he returns. And if that is the case I'm not ruling him out for round one, even if the possibility is remote.

The thing is...it's the playoff he's coming back to. THE PLAYOFFS. No holds bar, no questions asked when going in for a hit, high octane, high pressure, big hits. I really wish he had gotten a game or two in before this started. Also, be careful how you listen to Bylsma/the media. They've gotten very conflicting stories going in the past. I think Dan is intentionally being pessimistic because he knows it's better to not expect him back than to be expecting then get disappointed.
