The Angels have just lost 12 consecutive games for the first time since the Reagan Administration. Perhaps a trade for Yelich and Kelley can rejuvenate them and save Maddon's hide?

Wait til you see Kelley’s stats! They need all the bullpen help they can get given who they spent a lot on this offseason.

Yelich is still an upgrade over Jo Adell. How about Adell plus prospects to Oakland, Ramon Laureano to Milwaukee and Yelich + Kelley to LA

I don't know of any struggling star shortstops or second basemen who are signed through 2029 but I guess one could aim lower.

forget any trades unless its a fire sale:suds:

ccording to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times, the Angels have fired manager Joe Maddon.

ESPN's Buster Olney reported just a few minutes ago that the Angels were discussing a possible managerial change, and now the decision is official. Phil Nevin, who had been serving as the team's third base coach, will take over interim skipper duties. Maddon was with the Halos for two-plus years and will finish his run with a record of 157-172. That includes a current 12-game losing streak that has sunk Anaheim to an 8 1/2 game deficit behind the Astros in the American League West standings.

Why would Yelich want to play for such a trash team?

Not that Yelich would want to play for them... IF the Brewers sought to shop his contract and only an intrepid businessman as Moreno would take it on, I could see Yelich being amenable to that out of appreciation to the Brewers for their faith giving it to him in the first place.

13 consecutive losses, wow, a new franchise record ... 6 of them by 1 run.

2018-19: .327/.415/.631, 171 OPS+, 80 HR, 14.3 WAR in 1231 PA
2020-22: .231/.349/.385, 100 OPS+, 26 HR, 2.1 WAR in 953 PA

what a weird decline, especially at 28-30.

fun fact: I share the same birthday as Yelich
