no fucking way.

The Cavs obviously did not have a 3rd star- but they actually had real NBA players like Tristan Thompson, Larry Nance, George Hill, Kyle Korver, Rodney Hood, Jordan Clarkson---- any one of which would be the best role player on this lakers team

the difference between those guys, and guys like Monk, Johnson, Reeves, washed up Ariza, Jordan, Howard, etc. is VAST.

those were actually guys that were professional, playoff experienced vets who knew how to win and werent just junk like Jordan, Ariza, Bradley, etc.....and they werent young guys that had no clue what they are doing like Reeves, THT, Johnson.

put COMPETENT vets that still can play- that are pros and have playoff experience and know how to win around LeBron and you ARENT going to be 7 games under .500

That roster was not good and you know it.

The Laker roster beyond the top 2 isn’t good either.

But if AD and LeBron had each played 70+ games, guess where the Lakers would be?

Right in the middle of the West.

the Los Angeles Lakers started Stanley Johnson, Malik Monk and Austin Reeves tonight- and just gave up 71 points in the first half and are on their way to being 7 games under .500.

nothing more has to be said of the failure of Pelinka and Bus.

You should post mid-game more often. Lakers promptly woke up and came back from a 21 pt deficit to take a 6 point lead.

As always, even with injuries, the issue has been consistent effort and cohesive lineups. Lebron is not excluded from that effort part either.

The better question might be...Should the Lakers want Lebron James out of Los Angeles?

The problem is that the News media has been slamming a lot shit about Lebron and the Lakers and essentially trying to force the Lakers to make some bad trades. We don't know much is the truth - If the Lakers could walk away from both all three players and drop the salaries - and start with a brand new rebuild - that would be consideration. Other than that, the Lakers were fine with a healthy Lebron and Davis - they have never been good with the addition of Westbrook - I don't see to many options for the Lakers other than riding out the storm and see if they can make a fresh start with the three main players they have now and some better rentals

At this point, Westbrook is looking for a change this summer too. Best to move him for whatever you can get (without taking on unnecessary bad contracts for multiple years if possible). And no, that doesn't mean Wall for Westbrook and sweeteners.

Unfortunately, they likely lose Monk this summer unless he's willing to stay for under market value, since they are limited to giving him a small raise by league rules. Reaves, Nunn, THT, and Stanley are likely back unless included in a trade. Melo would be welcomed back. Dwight, Bradley, Augustin maybe? Baze, Ellington, Ariza are likely gone.

I believe the problem isn't those guys as much as having only three players on legitimate contracts that aren't essentially one year contracts With players making a little more money and a longer contract, there is going to be a better sense that they belong and will be committed to winning.

Sure, but the guys that are going to be offered for Westbrook are likely going to be severely overpaid guys with long, bad contracts that the teams are trying to dump. Nobody is actively pursuing Westbrook beyond his expiring contract.
