I gotta believe this is coming from Jeff +/or Brodie as a directive to Mickey.

NEW YORK -- The Mets have activated All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano from the injured list.
Cano is set to bat third for New York against the Giants on Wednesday night. He has been out since May 22 with a strained left quadriceps.
He said he hoped to be active for the series opener Tuesday, but was held back an extra day.
*Acquired last offseason from Seattle, Cano is hitting .241 with three homers and 13 RBIs for New York. He has been criticized for failing to hustle on a few groundouts this season then was injured running one out.

I'm definitely okay with this move though:
Outfielder Aaron Altherr was designated for assignment to open a roster spot.

~ Now they should bring up Matt Kemp from Syracuse.

* in a related story..did you see what Jay Bruce did last night in just his 2nd game w/ the Phillies since Seattle pretty much gave him away a few days ago?

Someone care to explain why Callaway still has Cano batting 3rd????

The Mets had runners on 1st & 2nd with 1 out in the 3rd, so SF walks Alonso (unintentionally intentional) which loaded the bases for Cano. (who they'd much rather pitch to)

And of course He GIDP!
So predictable.

:L

Good move Mickey. ....and probably Jeff & Brodie too.
I mean if they're so intent on playing the guy, at least move him down in the order to like 7th or 8th FFS.

*Mets scored a run in the 1st to lead 1-0 after 3.

Alonso gets HBP yet again. He's gonna be leading the NL in that stat before long.
Mets pitchers need to start returning the favor to their opposition.
Hechavarria came in to play 2nd in the top half, & now PH for Cano in the home 5th with a runner on.
Hmmmm....

Hechy reached on a FC....Alonso to 3rd on the E-1
Conforto sac fly rbi.....Pete scores from 3rd.

6-0 Mets.

Good to see Vargas pitching very well.
He's at 82 pitches so far thru 6.

6-0 Mets, mid 6th.

I can go watch game 6 of the NBA finals with some relative comfort...for now.

:D

LGM!

Mets had an early 2-0 lead on b2b solo HR's by Rosario & Smith in the 1st...
SF tied it in the 4th, and then took a 3-2 lead in the 6th.

Mets tie it up here in the 7th...and were in a great position to score more, but couldn't.

LOL at Bochy baiting by Callaway into over managing and double guessing in the 7th.

And in doing so, Mickey allows a golden opportunity to retake the lead go by the wayside with his last move....but at least they tied it up.

3-3 after 7.
