Well, like all of us figured, Scotty now also has a multi year contract with his buddy Jerry. Not sure if it's a smart idea to have a GM/Manager combo all the time. Oh well-so it goes.

I hate it and hate the resigning of Jerry...but in their last year of the contract, with them in a playoff chase this was kind of a must.

And sad and shows how poor they have been owned that in 3 years Servais is top 4 in wins. The only consistent manager they have had was under the worst of times management they have had.

Ya they had to, but just so odd to see rewarding a GM and manager for not yet making the playoffs. I'm not shocked after watching 41 years of M's baseball.

I said this in the Jerry one, didn't they do the exact same thing with Jack Z (and would have been Wedge had he not quit) only to get fired 2 years later?

Ya, I didn't think about that (mainly because I try to forget everything Jack). Good point.

Pretty sure Z was whacked 12 months after the extension

Yeah it shows the sad state of Mariners baseball that being in a playoff chase in July is a reason to celebrate for the Mariners brass. Ugh

Oakland is going to pass Seattle for the WC within days to a week at this rate. Then what happens? That was a big ass lead they just pissed away.

We're being Marinered again. They get your hopes up and look like a real baseball team for a bit then kick you right in the junk. That is how it is being a fan of this team that has won nothing really.

Teams are making moves and Seattle is just standing around. OK fine, then come this off season these dumbass owners better open up the wallet and spend. I know it's not their way of doing things but at least that keeps the farm intact.
