Nebraska wins 35-21

Players to Watch

Laviska Shenault, Jr. - receiver he torched Nebraska last year
Mustafa Johnson - Defensive Lineman
Nate Landman - Linebacker
Ronnie Blackmon - Punt Returner

My who is better

QB - Nebraska Adrian Martinez
RB - tie unless Dedrick Mills is something, both teams are unproven
WR - Colorado Laviska Shenault is better than all Nebraska receivers
TE - Nebraska
OL - Nebraska

DL - Nebraska sure Colorado has Mustafa, but then nobody, Nebraska has experience out the ying yang
LB - tie Mohammed Barry vs Nate Landman
CB - Nebraska
Safeties - tie

Kicker - Nebraska
Punter - tie

Once again, Colorado faces CSU in its opener. Colorado will have a tougher test than Nebraska and maybe
CSU shows some fight this year.

Colorado was 5-0 then went 0-7. Finished last in the PAC 12 South. the key player is Laviska Shenault, Colorado is real good with him and really bad without him.

Head Coach fired. new coach Mel Tucker, now famous for saying "What has Nebraska done?"
Mel Tucker coached college at Alabama and Georgia.

Mel Tucker is a defensive guy and the Buffs defense is highly suspect. Their D line is
mostly untested except for Mustafa.

Offensive Coordinator is Jay Johnson. A pro style OC guy. Meaning, Montez is supposed
to stand in the pocket.

QB is still Steve Montez who is 12-15 as a starter, but at one point he was 12-8 last year then the
bottom fell out.

Their receivers are good so the cornerbacks had better be ready and the safeties can't take anything for granted.

Colorado is all Laviska Shenault. Without him, Colorado went 0-7.

I am sure the team has watched film of Shenault over and over and over and over. BTW, it looks like Shenault younger brother commited to Colorado also.

The O line was their problem and still is. Their O line has a grad transfer from OKie State and Nebraska
has a d line grad transfer from Okie State. Look for this matchup.

Colorado running backs are unproven and Mel Tucker wants to run the ball. In 2018, Colorado ran for a total of 44 yards on 35 carries against Nebraska.

Last year was Martinez's first game. I expect the offense to be more like the final six games and not the first six games.

In 2018, Colorado's offense scored 27.1 points per game
In 2018, Colorado's defense gave up 27.3 points per game.

This could possibly be a fun game. Living in Boulder I get a great laugh outta the Buffs fans that think this is some kinds rivalry. So I like to make fun of their fans by reminding them the Huskers have a commanding 49-19-2 all time lead in this so called lopsided rivalry. I just might buy a Huskers t shirt & wear it around town on 9/7.

Might end up goin to the game, in-laws live out there

Some friends and I have talked about going as well. One is from western Nebraska so would actually be close for him. Ticket prices are pretty ridiculous right now, $250+ a ticket last I looked.

My buddy (a CU fan) caught the CU pre release and nabbed four tickets for $660.... My wife and I have two of them. $165 each ain't too shabby compared to what I've been seeing lately!

The Bittersweet 16: Meet the worst Power 5 teams in college football in 2019

5. COLORADO

"After averaging 37.8 points per game in their first five games, the Buffaloes were higher than their student body last season. But like funny Judd Apatow movies, all good things must come to an end. The Buffaloes went on a seven-game losing streak to finish the season and made head coach Mike McIntyre extinct.

Enter new head coach Mel Tucker, who has earned a reputation for being a great recruiter from his previous coaching stops at Alabama and Georgia. The refrigerator wasn't completely empty when Tucker arrived. Wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. had a breakout season last year with 86 catches, 1,011 yards and six touchdowns. Quarterback Steven Montez was also solid. He completed 64.5 percent of his passes, had 2,849 passing yards and was the team's second leading rusher. But with only five starters returning on defense, expect opposing offenses to do some free-range grazing in the end zone more often.

It's been a while since the glory days in Boulder, as students' dads remind them all the time. "Sure, when I was going to Colorado on grandpa's dime, weed wasn't legal and we had to smuggle it around in a hacky sack. But at least we had a national championship team in 1990, unlike you lazy millennials!"

I'd set the line at Colorado -8 in Boulder right now.

Huskers don't even have S. Alabama under control at halftime.

I would imagine it will open at Nebraska by about a field goal. Could be close to a straight pick.

OP is an idiot thinking Nebraska is going to beat Colorado.

Pretty sure their sphincters are going inside their bodies next week.

6-6 will be a miracle.
