Was just noodling around looking at stats...

EVERY SINGLE NBA champion was seeded either 1, 2, or 3...except 2 times...

Even the 3s only hit 6 times

A 4 seed won it (1969 Celtics)...and then a 6 seed (!) won it...skipped right over 5 seed LOL

1995 Rockets...

It's remarkable how pretty much every year it's a 1 or 2 seed, 67 out of 75 champions were 1 or 2

Should be noted those Rockets were defending champ at the time.

We have always said that the barring injury, the best team usually wins a 7 game series. There might be an upset or 2, but super unlikely for that Cinderella team to actually win the crown.

There are more teams than ever who have a puncher’s chance this season due primarily to uncertainty in the East with Philly and New Jersey, but it will probably be chalk this year too.

And if Brooklyn ends outside the top 3, they will fall in a similar category as the ‘95 Rockets. Legit contenders who underachieved during the regular season.

Vs Utah/Dallas

2 W’s vs Twolves/Clippers
Vs Memphis/Denver

I’m not sure about that. I mean right now the Suns would sweep the Lakers. If Kawhi comes back, big IF the W’s easily have the tougher 1st round.
The 2nd round is close, I dont see it overwhelming either way imo

I repeat this stat every year when someone inevitably tries to make the case for a Cinderella coming from a low seed.

Well yeah because he's hurt. Just starting to hear it might be a bigger problem than at first thought. All my Warriors hype here is obsolete if they aren't healthy for the playoffs, Suns win easy then

You still said those things with Dray hurt LOL Even without Dray they still SHOULD make it to the WCF's and top 3 contender. No excuses now.

The Cavs have Sexton and then lost Rubio. They have Mark out now. No KD and half games no Kyrie for Nets. They should be able to compete without Dray

Because I thought he'd be back. Of course they "compete". They don't go deep in the playoffs without him.

Healthy Suns vs hurt Warriors, Suns win easy. Both healthy, pick em. These are plain facts no matter who you root for

Not likely in the West, gonna be one of the top 2. In the East it's more wide open because the 1-6 seeds will be separated by like 5 games so they aren't that different. Plus like the 1995 Rockets (defending champs but 6 seed) the defending champs might be 3rd or 4th seed, and the possible favorite (Nets) might be like a 5 or 6 seed.
