SEC and CBS to part ways after 2023

This doesn't surprise me because the relationship has been on thin ice since CBS wouldn't renegotiate the network deal after expansion. CBS is currently paying 55 million a year for the game of the week and offered 300 million to continue the deal but evidently ABC/ESPN has offered more and FOX is putting together a package.

When the SEC did the original deal with CBS it was considered the benchmark deal for college football and it opened the door for future deals making the other P5 conferences a lot more rich. In 2023 the SEC will set the new standard and make serious bank.
