Interesting that we have Seattle on a short week. We just got KC on a short week and we played Baltimore after they came back from 2 weeks on the West Coast.

When did the schedule makers become friends with the Brown family?

Considering everyone was pointing to the schedule as the reason to expect the Bengals to miss the playoffs, maybe that was to offset all of these "unwinnable" games. Maybe it's our turn to get a bone thrown our way, since it's all rigged anyways.

That is why it's not worth trying to gauge a team based on their schedule. A lot of things happen between the time the schedule is released till the time teams meet.

Also, just as important as who you play is WHEN you play them.

I would rather Lynch be able to play. I don't want analysts saying we just keep getting lucky playing teams when they are not full go. I hope Big Ben is healthy when we play then too. We need to beat good teams with their stars, otherwise we are not preparing for the postseason anyways. Unless we start encountering a rash of injuries ourselves. Then I won't mind our competition having to endure the same thing.

I don't guess it matters. I mean, look at Denver, they are struggling in a lot of ways, but they are still undefeated. A week ago, people were saying Arizona was better than their last superbowl team, and here they go losing to STL. All that matters is how healthy and good you are in the playoffs.

STL is a good team. I don't know why people are discrediting the Cardinals for losing a good divisional rival.

The Rams may have one of the best defenses in the NFL. They are acquiring talent on offense and Gurley looks like he may be the real deal. If Foles can just be the QB he was in Philly, the Rams will win a lot of games.

I have a feeling the class of the NFC West may be the Rams and Cardinals the next couple years. Wow, kind of weird saying that, but I think both teams are more talented than Seattle or San Francisco at this point. It is hard to go 16-0 in a season, so because a dominate team like the Cardinals lose 3-5 games doesn't mean they aren't one of the best teams in the league.

I think Lynch is about done. Age and usage is catching up. It doesn't help that the OL in seattle isn't as good as it has been, either. However, it's early. They are still a quality team, and having the game gives Cincy a slight edge.

Who cares what the dipshits on television say..... Everyone has injuries. Some years your injuries are worse than others. The Bengals have been one of the best teams in the league this year by every measure.

This is why it cracks me up that people are picking contenders and pretenders this early in the season. Last year nobody would have called New England a contender after the first 4 games and just getting blown out by the Chiefs. I'm guessing nobody back in 2007 or 2011 were considering the Giants much of a contender yet all those teams went on to win the Super Bowl. Right now I am just happy my team is undefeated even though the offense is really struggling to find itself a bit. Lots of season left where injuries and bad or good luck will help or hurt teams.

When you have 2 or 3 full-time cable channels dedicated to football and another thousand websites, the chatter gets a little crazy. I think the first quarter can tell you a lot about some teams - Those that were maybe a little overrated coming in and those that were probably underrated. And the wins count for a lot when it comes to playoff seeding.... So better to win ugly than lose with class.... It's a long season and lots of twists and turns will happen.

Except in the AFC-S...... That division is just full of hot garbage.

Yeah nobody seems to want to win that AFC South. You are right it definitely shows something but it is still at a point that we have seen some teams rebound. Just like with Seattle starting out 0-2 I do think they still rebound and make the playoffs. I don't think they are as good as many in the National Media were trying to make them as I did expect that Lynch would start breaking down some this year and I did think the defense looked a little more vulnerable than in years past but I still think they are a team that will be in the thick of it when all is said and done. Above all that though our 2 teams are 4-0! Like you said even winning ugly you are still winning.

the 'jungle' has sold out yo. someone tell those drunken fools that haven't been to a football game since 1990 to yell when we're on defense and be quiet for Cayenne Peppa when we have the ball. they always screw that up.

A terrible game to start the week in Balt/Pitt and a terrible game to watch to end the week in Seattle/Det.

None of those teams look good right now, really. At least Pitt has the hope of Ben returning.

Seattle still looks like they're sleepwalking. The Super Bowl hangover is probably playing a pretty big role right now.

Let's hope they don't pick this week to put themselves back together!

The big concerns for me would be if I were a Seattle fan: The OL doesn't look like it's played well. Granted, I don't want a ton of their games, but it seems like they've really struggled.

You trade for Jimmy Graham, and then use him as a blocker more than he's ever been used as a blocker before, and when you don't use him as a blocker, don't get him targets in the passing game. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

You are right. They look like they are sleep-walking, but I wonder how much of that is hangover from last year and how much of it is the window closing on them. We'll find out soon enough.
