Ok Seattle posters, the proverbial thread ball is teed up for you - hit away.

I have no illusions that the Panthers will whip up on the Seahawks however I do think it will be a competitive game. You have to admit that the Panthers D is playing as well as anyone's right now. They set an NFL playoff record for fewest yards allowed. I realize it was against a very poor QB/RB combination, however that same combination put up 380+ yards on San Fran last week.

We did have some bonehead plays on ST and offense and if we continue on that line in Seattle we have no chance. If our offense gets it together then it will be a very competitive game that the Panthers could very well win.

It will be a closer game than most expect… But I don't think Carolina's offense has the firepower to win.

The last 3 years have had the Seahawks play the Panthers in Carolina with a very low score as the result.

My guess is the score will be relatively low again although I think the Hawks will win by 10, assuming the Hawks play the Panthers. Cam Newton has struggled a lot against the Seahawks defense and it could be argued that it is playing better now than it has played at any point in the past 3 years.

20-10 would be my guess.

Cam still looks pretty inaccurate to me -- at least he was yesterday -- and also appears somewhat banged up. If those 2 things present in Seattle, really difficult seeing Carolina with anything but a puncher's chance. Newton hasn't had his best days vs the LOB, and those games were all in Carolina. This would be the biggest upset of the playoffs but certainly not the biggest in playoff history or anything.

I'm not willing to talk about the game until we know this is the game.

Anyone automatically dismissing Detroit might be in for a surprise. I mean of course Dallas is the likely winner, but it isn't a done deal. I'll revisit this thread then after 5pm pacific.

Many threads are "what if" speculations so I don't mind commenting.
IIRC, 2of Cams worst days as an NFL QB came against Seattle at home.
I expect more of the same results if these 2 teams meet next week.

Meh, if they win it would have to be like 6-3 or something. Winter in Seattle, Seahawks nearly at full strength, and a QB that isn't known for his composure facing the loudest venue in the NFL. Seattle cruises if they face the Panthers.

Oh opinions?

Well in that case i think the first half would be either the Hawks coming in and tossing everything at Cam fast and the game spiraling away from the Panthers.

Or it goes like when the Hawks played them all the times before the first half same, second half the Hawks step it up and adjust and the game is over before the 3rd qtr ends.

I'd rather Seahawks play Panthers than the Lions.

Seahawks know Panthers better, having played regular season games against them.

Detroit would beat the Seahags.

Agreed even though Cam was clearly dismissing Detroit post game yesterday. Either that or he doesnt understand how the playoff system works

Agreed.
The pressure is a lot different on Romo, who is 1-6 in win or go home games.

I'd rather see the Panthers than the Lions in that round, but Romo could definitely revert to the mean.

I think Carolina matches up better with Seattle. I think they could shock the world & beat Seattle. I think Seattle would pound Detroit, but have serious doubts about the Lions beating the Cowboys today.

Based on what? How well pass-heavy offenses tend to play on the road in Seattle? How well Stafford does on the road against winning teams?
