I really really hope my pessimism is completely misplaced. I'm just not that jazzed about Irvin and Mayowa. I know they had decent sack totals but they got sacks on something like 30% of their pressures which is a ridiculously high rate and unlikely to be repeated. And both of them are questionable in rush support.

The 30% thing -- no clue where that stacks up vs league avg or even their career avgs. I guess it's not something I have really looked into before. It seems to me like they will both get every opportunity to be the primary pass rushers or at least get used in that role as frequently as they did last season. If they produce the same amount of sacks but don't reach the 30% clip, I'm not sure we will care too much about that.

But ultimately is the interior of the line that I'm really concerned with. I just can't believe we only have 3 DTs on the roster. I get that they are likely going to swing Collier and maybe even Green into the middle on some pass plays. But our DL is going to be pretty darn light.

It does seem like Collier could be a hybrid type guy. He's somewhere around 280 so not the profile of a traditional interior DL player but he might be able to pull off a MB type role. I guess Jarran Reed and Poona Ford are each going to get tons of snaps?

Seahawks inactives: Dorsett down with foot injury, rookies Dallas and Robinson out

View attachment 253062

Zero shock on Dorsett being out. Guys been an injury issue every season he started. I didn't really mind the signing, but I was not hopeful he'd be routinely playing.

Jamal Adams' visor is sick.

Apparently Dunbar is cleared to play, but no named starter as of yet (although Flowers is on the depth charge as the #2). I really hope they just play Dunbar. He was a top 3 corner in the NFL last year and Flowers got abused quite a bit. Unless the coaches feel Flowers made tremendous offseason progress, this doesn't seem like the game to go with him (Ridley and Jones are a very threatening receiver duo, and give Matt Ryan time which he'll prob. get at times).

Also could've been a potential case for a chop block. But nice to see the new guys (Adams/Collier) makin' plays. Now 3rd and 16... C'MON!

Just finally found a way to watch. Did I miss anything before the field goal?

Not too bad of a start. Adams/Collier stepping up, little too much time for Ryan but the legion of boom looks to be in the making again. HARD hits in the secondary.

Atlanta has a potent offense, we were only on for 4 minutes and they got away with 3. I'll take it. Dunbar will take a bit of time getting up to speed as well, the throw to Ridley is SO hard to cover... Ryan has always been clutch with those stupid sideline throws (I mean Wilson is too, but it's frustrating to watch against your defense).

Looked like he lost control of the catch on the way down...

Thought the same, thought that could've been challenged. Apparently we no longer have a winner icon, so you get a like. LOL
