My passion for the team has never really lessened although they are trying my patience after this many years since Gibbs first era. There are players I like ... I like such as Cousin's, Kerrigan and I liked Jonathan Allen quite a bit. None that I am emotionally invested in. Well I take that back. Navorro Bowman because we have known him since he was a little boy and because he is an outstanding man.

S'ok. I like player on other teams too and root for them when they aren't playing against the Redskins. Hell I have been watching the Rams this year when I can because I like Sean McVay.

Sean as a player seemed to be arriving that last year. Before that he was good, not great. He was great for highlights. Would have been interesting to see if he continued that growth how good he might have been. Ed Reed was great and I am no where near a Ravens fan.

Yep - Taylor appeared to grow & constantly become a better player. In his last game against Packers he had a few INTs but could have easily had 5 if had not dropped several - amazing. Would be interesting to see how he would have changed his game to adapt to today's rules. Otherwise he would have no doubt incurred numerous suspensions.

I don't think ST would be a Redskin today. Remember he fired his agent and told the Skins he wanted to redo his very shitty, very bad 7 year/18 million dollar contract and the Skins balked. He than got caught up in a gun possession charge stemming from the theft of his ATV and ST's belief the cops weren't doing their job to find who stole it. Had he not been a professional athlete with finances available to him. I think he would've been locked up, at least till he bailed out. As it stood, ST was compelled to play that year by business reasons as opposed to desiring to be out there.

And as the Skins were giving ST the high hard one. They were busy making Adam Archuleta, 5 years/30 mill/10 mill signing bonus, and Laron Landry, 5 year/41 million/17.5 mill guaranteed. The highest paid safeties in NFL history. Yeah, I think things get ugly real fast between the Skins and ST when time comes to negotiate ST's 2nd contract.

Archuleta was dealt him prior to Taylor's last season & Landry was selected as a compliment to Taylor. Taylor was leading the NFL in INTs when he died & was considered perhaps the best S in football. No way the Redskins were going to deal him. Given the season he would have likely had I believe that they would given him a contract much bigger than both of those you mention.

Taylor was arrested in June 2005 - 2.5 years before his death & by all accts he was cleaning up his life being particularly motivated by the recent birth of his daughter. Dan Snyder appeared to be very attached to Taylor as evidenced by the fact that he visited him as he was dying & offered his jet to help get others to see him. I don't believe that they had a rocky relationship in 2007 (perhaps they did before).

Both the Skins and Taylor appeared to be happy with each other. Remember this is a man who was turning his life around & you hear this from just about everyone that knew him (not from a-holes like Wilbon & Cowherd). I could be wrong, but I truly believe that he would have been a Redskin for a very long time, but we will never know.
