Well... we only have three weeks left.

In three weeks and some change, we should get some sort of clarity on what they plan to do with Gruden and Cousins.

Bruce aint going anywhere... mind you there is nothing bright about that.

At this point, this team is just trying to figure out if it should walk towards or away from the light.:D

Snyder has now been the team owner for 19 years. We can blame Vinny, Bruce any number of players or coaches but there is one common denominator. I tried believing he changed when Shanahan was hired .... NOT! I tried to believe with the best QB the team has had in at least 20+ years there would be a difference .... NOT! Sorry folks I do not see a remedy on the horizon.

My cure: root for players you like on the Redskins or other teams .... find a new and less dysfunctional team because nothing is going to change here.

I am NOT becoming a Browns fan. :pound:

Sadly the Browns actually have a possibility of becoming better than the Skins in time. They actually just hired a good football person as their new GB & have a boatload of draft picks. Now I realize that this has not worked in the past but who knows.

Meanwhile the Redskins moved away from their true GM & again I am alright w/ that, but they should have replaced him with an actual GM & not a professional ass kisser. They also are now quite possibly moving away from Cousins (might be the best thing for Cousins) & if so will likely screw up any draft selection at QB.

Sportster said it best above - Snyder is the common thread & honestly do we feel hope as long as he is running the show? Every year we get duped into believing there is hope & then it gets washed away. Sure injuries are a big part of the issues this season, but how does that explain the lackluster performance yesterday to the pt where one of the players pretty much said he saw this coming?

I am getting to the pt where I just feel that Snyder only cares about separating the fans from their money & winning takes a back seat to that. Sure he would like to win but only on his terms & it is not his highest priority. Again - would love to be wrong, but how many more years of this BS do we need to endure?

How many more years will it take?? How many more years do you have would be the Dan Snyder answer. Its depressing in that no matter how badly he does, we cant get rid of him as an owner.

I am on the shorter side of years left so although I will always be a Redskin fan if I am going to take time to watch football I am going to start watching players I like and enjoy too.

Been there, done that, is the biggest reason why I annually predict 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 with luck. It is also the reason why I no longer invest emotionally into any player or this team. Sure it bothers some of you guys and I know that, but to be honest, I'd much rather take some shit from folks that I've come to know a bit and respect than to continually self inflict false hope. I want them to win as much as anyone, but truthfully with the exception of the 1st Gibbs years, I've spent far too many of my years riding that bitch, hope, only to eventually find myself emotionally like this:

th
BTW: His sign reads...:"I quit, they just don't pay me enough!"

The off-season is fast approaching, changes are coming, free agents to sign and a draft to inject more youth and more hope for the suck...ahem... I mean fans of this team. :D. Yeah, good luck with that!!

Sometimes I think you overplay that emotional stuff. Good is good. I gave up idolizing players in Larry Brown, Sonny and Riggo days. Sadly we do not have enough good. If Geno Smith could play as well as Cousin's I could be emotional

I am getting to the point I don't think it matters if they resign Cousin's. I like him because he is good, but no matter what this just seems to be a shit team with Snyder as owner.

Yeah, maybe I do....anything is possible, but how else do we explain the considerable heat generated on forums like this one? That shit there, is pure emotion, especially when it gets to slinging all 7 expletives at one point or the other.

I get it, you and I, along with a couple of others are time beaten old hats at handling such things, as I stated previously, we've been there, done that, but there are others who have yet to reach that "fuck it" phase of their lives as it relates to this team. They're still heavily invested on a personal level and, as such, vent their frustrations, disappointments, pains, agony and on rare occasions joy, as time, just as its done to us, puts them in the position to disinvest so much of themselves, in exchange for more disappointment.

Look we can't keep doing this, I'm not gonna keep fuckin' around with yo ass, so after you leave this time, that's it!!.................................... Yeah man, I'm done with all that, I'm not doing that shit no more, so what's the plan? You got plans? whadaya mean what am I doing tonight? ............ Fuck!!!, guess I'll just end up calling___________ again!

You, I and a few others....... that was some real nice ass, now fix me a sammich, then get the fuck out!!

I guess I will just say I can't really tell whether people are emotional or not. Younger people sometimes maybe because they are young. Kind of like Sean Taylor, guys seemed to LOVE him. To me he was just another safety. Now I loved Paul Kraus and was pissed when he was traded but I was like 8 or 9 or something like that. LOL

Hmm - surprised to see you state that about Taylor. He is by far my favorite player ever (even though he played a short time). His talent & passion were second to none. Also - he was part of some of the biggest plays in recent Redskins history (blocked Boys FG, breaking up pass against Boys on MNF, TD return against Eagles to clinch playoffs, TD return in playoff game vs Bucs, etc). His hits were also legendary (& likely would not be allowed now).

He is one of the few people who I don't know personally where I cried when he died. Oh well - different strokes.

I actually think they screwed up firing that last GM. Hes the one who got them all those picks. Its like the Sixers firing Sam Hinkie all over again lol.

The only thing that keeps me coming back with Snyder is that I think he really wants to win hes just too stubborn to figure out how to do it and that to do it he needs to dump the yes men and let the (real) GM run the show. But maybe youre right. Maybe he does just want the $$$.

Ugh. Everytime it feels like we're climbing out of this shit something drags us back in.

Taylor, Portis, and Moss will probably be my 3 favorite players my whole life.

Though Trent is creeping his way up there.

If nothing else this act will always make me really like Williams. More of the Seahawks deserve this type of treatment (e.g. Bennett).

Which is what my post was about. You showed emotion in your post. I understand that, I felt those same type of feelings when I was younger. Larry Brown walked into the pizza store I worked at when I was a teenager. All I could do was stand there and stare. I wore his number when I played RB in HS. By the time Taylor came along he was just one of 53 guys on the team.

You misunderstood my post. I didn't comment on Taylor's playing ability. I simply said he was just a football player to me as were the other guys. I like Cousin's but I am not emotionally tied to him. Riggo and Dexter Manley are the last two NFL players I had some emotional ties. This was in response to Sty's comment about folks being emotionally tied to Cousin's. I like Cousin's but there is no emotion there. I like him because he is the best QB the Redskins have had in at least 25 years.

Fair enough & I am not criticizing you & I totally understand your pt. I have great passion for past players like Riggins, the Hogs, etc. However I also felt this passion for Taylor & IMO he was a throwback to those type of players. Swearinger also appears to be this type of player, but he also has holes in his game & is nowhere near as talented as Taylor was.

Oh well - here's to hoping that we all rediscover some of this passion moving fwd - not easy w/ this franchise.

My passion for the team has never really lessened although they are trying my patience after this many years since Gibbs first era. There are players I like ... I like such as Cousin's, Kerrigan and I liked Jonathan Allen quite a bit. None that I am emotionally invested in. Well I take that back. Navorro Bowman because we have known him since he was a little boy and because he is an outstanding man.

S'ok. I like player on other teams too and root for them when they aren't playing against the Redskins. Hell I have been watching the Rams this year when I can because I like Sean McVay.

Sean as a player seemed to be arriving that last year. Before that he was good, not great. He was great for highlights. Would have been interesting to see if he continued that growth how good he might have been. Ed Reed was great and I am no where near a Ravens fan.
