Seattle remains the favorite win Super Bowl XLIX, though the odds have increased a little, from 9/2 on the day after the Super Bowl win over the Broncos, to 6/1 today.

The odds are courtesy of Bovada.LV.

First, though, this overview of free agency from Bovada, and then the odds:

“Unless a quarterback or star running back moves teams, it is pretty rare that one player in the NFL will have a big impact on Super Bowl odds, but we have seen some slight movement since free agency began. The Green Bay Packers have seen some money over the last week, getting Peppers no doubt contributed to that, and have gone from 16-1 to 10-1. Meanwhile the Denver Broncos who have bolstered up their defense a touch have also dropped from 8-1 to 7-1, but are not seeing any backing by our bettors. The Eagles would be the other team that has moved from 25-1 to 18-1 as a result of them being pretty active in the market through keeping their own free agents, trades, and free agent signings.”

Kevin Bradley, Sports Book Manager, Bovada.lv

It's amazing how close Vegas comes in allot of there selections… Although they blew the Super Bowl pretty bad BUT for the most part they do pretty well….

Super Bowl winners should be the favorites to repeat right off the bat unless something significant enough happens to make you think they can't or won't.

Vegas actually had the Seahawks open as the favorite, it was bettors who threw a ton of money on the Broncos that caused the spread to shift to Denver's favor. Vegas made a killing on the super bowl.

Vegas casinos reported 120 million in bets, but that's only a small portion compared to the offshore sports books. They said money poured into Denver because of Peyton Mannings numbers, and many bet the under of 47.5. The casinos and books around the planet made out like bandits. Prop bets were at an all time high as well. There was an actual prop bet that a saftey would be the first score of the game and the odds were 60-1!!!! Those who made that bet had their O face on quickly. The books had to payout on some prop bets, but overall, they made a killing that day.

When it comes down to it, Seahawks bailed out the books bigtime. Not only with winning, but delivering most of those 51 points scored.

It stands to reason. Seattle put on a fine performance in the postseason.

I'm curious if money spent by the bettors is what causes teams to fluctuate from the initial line put out by Vegas. The Redskins have the worst odds (barring Minnesota) of coming out of the NFC and winning the SuperBowl. Hell, Houston, Dallas and St. Louis have better odds, according to this. We need a little work, but I didn't think we were that bad.

Any team that thinks that they will win in Seattle is insane.
