Nope. Never bought into the theory of us taking Mariota. He doesn't fit the profile of a gruden QB and he has too many open questions if he can be molded to become one. This was Clayton making a splash to get clicks on his writings. Pure speculation to win the news report of the week. If you notice, not one of the revised mock drafts have us taking Mariota eventhough in most we have the chance.

Good points, and you're right, I've seen mocks that had him going anywhere from 6 to 8th. Gotta give SM an A for effort though, it has been a long time since we've seen this organization do what professional ones do routinely.

i dont think any of the 31 other gm's would by that simpleton ploy . i believe that drafting him is in play (not likely ) but in play and no GM worth his weight in sand would fall for it
