As pretty much expected by everyone. Means McNabb and Andreoff made the squad. Both being younger with more upside looks like the no brainer move since both of the latter two guys would have to go through waivers too. Much more likely to get claimed.

Cracknell really never had a chance to make the squad. More than anything he was just a warm body for camp. Schultz signed a 2 year extension with the hopes that it keep teams from claiming him when he gets sent down to Manchester. At least he doesn't bitch and seems to accept the business side of the game. He was very serviceable when he was thrust into action against the Ducks last playoffs. Made you feel a little bad for him because he wasn't able to get his name on the cup.

I wonder if the Kings signed him to put some pressure on Nolan. After the 2012 season where both he and King were called up and made an impact, he has stalled out IMO.

He's not a bad B6 forward but I think he can do more, and I wouldn't be surprised if Cracknell was signed to push him a little bit and let him know that they need more, which I think he can give since we have seen it. He had a good camp from everything I read so maybe it worked, now bring that into the 82 game season.

Schultz played very well in Regehr's absence, I was concerned he hadn't played a single NHL game all season long but he filled in fine. I remember his first game in the POs and he made some key plays in front of Quick, one specifically sweeping the puck away before a Shark could get to it.

I wouldn't feel too sorry for the guy though, he will make $1.85 million between the $1 million buyout from the Capitals and the $850,000 from the Kings regardless of where he plays this season (AHL or NHL).

I think on another team he makes the roster but with the Kings' defense pretty solid. not going to happen here - good problem to have as a fan.

Jackets claimed Cracknell. I hope they know that doesnt mean the cup is theirs.

Too bad I thought he played pretty well during the few games I saw him in. But he is another of the 3rd/4th line energy guys that the Kings have a lot of and he was outplayed by Andreoff in my estimation.
