I respectfully disagree. The pylon does matter because it is directly lined up with the plane of the goal line and that's when and where the ball finally breaks it, a split second after the other end of the football hits out of bounds. To me, this is pretty clear in super slow motion replay, regardless of which camera angle you have.Pylon doesn’t matter. Nose of the ball just needs to break the plane of the goalline. It does.
They keep on showing the wrong replay. The controversial replay has the camera not looking straight down the goal line.
Look at the replay at 1:16 mark. That camera is right down the goal line. Nose of the ball crosses the goal line before touching OOB.
Correct call IMO.
It's an incredible effort by Penix Jr., but he fell short by a couple of centimeters or so. Either way, this was a bizarre game that was won and lost by each team several times over...Lol
