In response to WR Doug Baldwin comments that Seattle receivers "are really good, really good". Deion Sanders and Charles Woodson laughed and joked about that comment on the NFL Network this morning. The two HoF DBs said if they were ever to lose sleep before a game, it wouldn't be the night before covering the Seattle receivers.

Awesome. The more these people have those reactions the more it keeps that chip on Baldwins shoulder.

I fear the day when no one is saying that stuff and the chip is gone. I'm betting their performances wouldn't be as intense.

They are in the HOF for a reason.
My opinion, Sanders best CB ever. Smart, ball skills and fast.
He retired, went into broadcasting for three years, unretired and played for the Ravens.
He was still good at that point.

Well, when you look at starting duos in the NFL, you have to put Seattle's pair toward the bottom as you rank them. Hard to really say Woodson & Sanders are wrong here. Neither Baldwin nor Kearse were even drafted. Both caught TDs in a SB though.

But receivers don't really dictate who wins championships though, at least historically. It's a lot more about the QB and the defense.

The WR's aren't that good.

I don't think any of the current WR's would be starting on most teams. Baldwin is probably a slot/#3 WR on most teams

Maybe true, but did anyone else get a mental image of Deion Sanders trying to tackle Marshawn Lynch and just start laughing?:pound:

Exactly nothing they said was really wrong. I don't think anyone considers Baldwin or Kearse a # 1 or # 2 WR on most teams.

They are appetizers, eh?

I agree that they suck, but when Wilson can buy an extra few seconds with his legs you don't need world beaters at wr.

Theyre not great, but they make plays when they need to and contribute to a winner.

The Broncos have a great receiving core and put up 13 on Indy last week.

It was also mentioned the Baldwin and company are also keeping notes on the media that have not "given them their due" those are my words. Because i can't remember exactly what they said.

I have to agree with the reporters. The Hawk receivers are the weakest part of that team. I`d say even more than the O line. That's not dis it`s partially due the offense Seattle runs.

I personally wish the Pats had Kearse I think he`s an underated game changer. Especially if he were on a heavy pass team.

One of the reasons people are down on the Seahawks receivers is the offense they run (which is also something brought up in QB debates). Golden Tate had similar opinions of him before going to Detroit, and now people think he's a solid WR. It just goes with the territory for this offense, but this kind of stuff has fueled Baldwin to big games in the past, so I'm not all that upset about it.

I don't think Seattle has a #1, they've got 2 borderline #2s (Baldwin/Kearse) a #3 or two (Richardson/Norwood) and then a couple special teams specialists playing WR (Lockette/Walters). Hell, even when Harvin was here, he's not exactly what you would call a #1.

Exactly and with the exception of a great TE when healthy in Gronk, the Pats receivers aren't anything but #3;s on other teams.

I'm not sure I would want Baldwin or kearse as my number two receiver either.

Honestly I don't care if the WR's actually do suck or are great as long as the team keeps winning. Call them what you like. It's obviously not hurting them.

I'm just not sure how you rate them on a team that the run to pass play ratio is the most in the league to the run. Neither of them make drops on easy passes and both have been clutch when the game is on the line and they must come down with a catch. That's what I care about.

The overall passing game took a hit with Harvin leaving and all the TE's they have gone through. They really aren't getting much out of that position and it does impact their offense.

Well, when the QB can't hit anything but dirt with his passes, you can't fault the receivers. If manning were healthy I think the broncos would be in the AFCC. That's more to do with the situation than the talent.
