As impressive as Davis was, I think Cosmi has him beat.

I’m with Dad. I think he will compete this season but they will go with Lucas and Moses. Cosmi will take over next season when both are FAs. That is another reason I think this was a smart pick. Losing both tackles or looking to replace both tackles with no in-house replacement is foolish.

This is a really good article. I love his versatility this season.

He fell in line where he should have regarding OTs in draft order but I like his upside more than anybody not named Sewell. There isn’t anybody that makes me scream we missed on so I like the pick. It was a need and we got a high upside player that will compete to start day one.

Grade- A-

Agreed and the most intriguing pick for me of the draft. Seriously hoping he works out in a big way. Mountain of a man, long arms and decent athleticism. I can picture a future left side with Cosmi and Charles.

With Flowers back in the fold, where do you see a fit for Charles this year? For them to take Cosmi that high says they like him there over Charles. I believe Charles slides inside.

This was a solid pick based on the idea that we might need to replace one or both tackles next year AND Scherff is playing on the tag. The more players we have set to step in on the line in 2022 the better... just in case Snyder decides to play it cheap come contract talks next year

We just don’t want to pay 3 million more than the next guy in line for a position that is continually filled by rookies and journeymen quite well.

(Snyder won't be involved in player contract negotiations)

Washington was looking for a tackle, and it got one of the most athletic ones of the past three decades. He received a relative athletic score of 9.99 out of 10.00, which ranked second among 1,143 players at the position since 1987.

Based on his skillset, experience and production, he'll likely compete for the starting left tackle spot with Saahdiq Charles, Geron Christian Sr. and Cornelius Lucas.

"We're going to put him out at left tackle and see how he does," Rivera said. "That's what he did in college, and he played it very well in college. That's why we think he's a really good pick for us because of what he does. He's going to get an opportunity to compete for us, and we'll see how he does."

To me that is a no-brainer. With his athleticism and strength, the left side is the obvious choice. Even from the little I have seen, he has some obvious fundamental issues but they seem easy to fix up. I can’t believe they did not fix it at Texas TBH, like that back pedal on snap instead of a kick out. He is collapsing the pocket for the end.
