I might as well get this out of the way right now.....
Congrats to the Sens and their fans on the win.
Interesting matchup guys. The Sens miss Spezza more than I thought they would. Anderson has been unbelievable in net. The Sabres don't seem to have a problem scoring goals. Giving them up is a different story.
It's a battle of wills. Can the Sabres score enough on Anderson to win? Will the Sens find somebody, anybody who can put the puck in the net (Michalek I'm talking to you for fantasy purposes of course.) Should be fun.:
P.S. How soon before Lindy gets the axe?
If they miss the playoffs it should be at the end of the season but his buddy is the GM so I will not hold my breath. I think it would be good for him and the team if he moved on.
BTW at one time I was a big Ruff supporter but the rosters has changed many times and we get the same results so it seems like a no brainer to me.
Yep, The Sabres will wait until there are 10 games left and go on a 7-1-2 finish and fall short for the playoffs again. How many season have they done that? I am so tired of hearing that they were the hottest team in the last 15-20 games but fell short.
Did it ever occur to these morons if they played like that all of the time they wouldn't need a late season push !!
What I don't get about the Sabres so far this year is the problems on the blueline. When I look at their roster their D looks like it should be very good. I don't get it.
That's what me and my son were saying. On paper they look very good but they have been making some terrible mistakes. Not only the defense but forwards not back checking....crazy mental mistakes that's why I think Ruffs time is up.
This team should be better than they are in the standings.
The Ehrhoff & Leino signings have certainly bit them in the ass. Leopold & Regehr are in the final year of their contracts. That usually means they play very well. I don't get it.
I think depth production has been the Sabres biggest issue this year. Sure, the D has been iffy, but when Vanek, Pominville, and Hodgson have a combined 18 goals and 41 points compared to 9 and 34 for the entire rest of the team, that's a huge problem.
Stafford not having a goal yet should have gotten him mentioned in the article of struggling goal scorers in the other thread.
