Not that anyone cares, but I have a few ideas for the game...

1.) A team can not fill the roster spot for suspended players (max of 3 games)

2.) After a predetermined number of icings in a period (ie 3), a team is issued a delay of the game penalty.

3.) (not really for the game) Have the captains of the all-star teams chose charities to play for. Fans can go to NHL.com and 'bet' (donate money) on the team they think will win (players can also 'bet') The winning team gets 30% of the losing team's money (some percentage). Gives the players a little extra to play for, fans are more invested in the game as well, and of course, charities benefit.

I don't like #2. Too inflexible. Kinda like delay of game for putting the puck over the glass.

I don't like 2 either. Some icings (most now) are simple assignment mistakes. The line change rule is ample punishment.

I would like to see them bring in auto icing though to avoid broken legs and heads.

One more

4.) The game can not end on a shortened powerplay. Meaning, if a team is trailing by one goal (or the game is tied) and a penalty is called with under 2 minutes to play, the team is awarded the full 2 minutes. Furthermore, either no carry over PP to OT (full duration in regular time), or if goal is scored in OT resulting from penalty in regualr time, no extra point is awarded to the loser.

However, if a call is made to even up the players or a short handed goal is scored, the game will end (or go to OT).

Auto icing should be a no brainer at this point in time.... well the race to the dot I like, give the forechecker a chance

I only mention #2 because it seems like they are calling a lot more icings this year... therefore they are stopping the game already... may as well throw a penalty in there at some point in time to add some excitement... I don;t like the inflexibilty either... but I was thinking about basketball... after so many fouls the team goes to the line (or something like that)... and with more icings, it seems the game is slower, I was thinking of a way to 'punish' teams for icings... after so many the other team can go to the line...

5.) One more, trying to incorporate advantage like they do in soccer... having ahard time... but one some hand passes or offsides, if the team not committing either of those has the puck, let the play go...

team 1 defender knocks the puck down with hand, goes to team 1 winger, he touches it but loses control to team 2 center who's on a break... do not call that hand pass...

I don't like it... but thinking of ways to keep the flow going... perhaps rather than faceoffs for offsides, the defending team just gets a free break out of the blue line...

I don't know...

A good number of Icing calls are no more than judgements by the refs (could someone actually have gotten to the puck or not?), so I have a hard time penalizing teams for that past what they already get.
