I'm not a huge hockey follower, so I wasn't sure if I would be alone in that thought. Seems like the guy was reaching and got popped. The hitter did look to elevate a little, but not the worst hit I've seen. Just an unlucky situation for the guy getting hit.

Looked like he may have gotten the elbow up a bit. Hard to say if he led with the elbow or if it just came up on the follow-through though.

IIHF takes head shots way more seriously than the NHL though, so it's not surprising he gets 5 for it.

guy had the puck, was shoulder hit, and coming from the front.
(pause at 1:19 to see it was shoulder, not elbow).
it WAS contact to the head though, but that's a function of the hittee, not of the hitter.

the guy who fed him the suicide pass should be the one getting suspended.

The only thing wrong with it was that he contacted the head first. But I agree that was more because the forward was reaching for the puck not because the D-man was headhunting.
