Purchased this saturday (1/26/13). Added a Burris Fast Fire III Red Dot Reflex Sight and after about 10 minutes of playing with the zero, the 6" metal plates at 20 yards didn't stand a chance. Using a sand bag and resting, a 12" plate was easy at 100 yards (aiming about 16 inches high above center). Once I get my tax stamp back a Gen III suppressor will be on it making this gun an absolute blast to shoot. If any of you are looking for a 22lr pistol, take a serious look at the Ruger 22/45.

What do you think of the trigger? I played with one a friend bought thinking the same thing. But I couldn't get over the hitch in the trigger. Thats what has kept me from buying one. I've got an old mark 1 that I love to shoot and a buckmark I also love to shoot.

I read a lot of bad reviews regarding the trigger and I almost didn't buy this one because of it. My trigger is clean and crisp, other than being a little strong to pull (probably around 4.5 pounds, guess) its really good. I am going to upgrade to a Volquartsen trigger though to remove the magazine safety, has a bonus Volquartsen trigger are the best for your money and they are 2.25lbs.

Has Ruger changed the name??

That looks identical to my mark III that I got last year. In any case my only bitch with the gun is it is a complete pain in the ass to clean. Breakdown sucks ass and re-assembly is borderline rocket science. I actually had to watch a video to figure it out.

Ruger still makes the Mark III and the 22/45 is based off of that platform. The disassembly and reassembly can be frustrating. It's a simple design but mine is a pain in the ass to breakdown. With out a rubber mallet I would not have been able to separate the upper from the lower. I have taken mine apart approximately 7 times so far and it is getting easier evertime.

This gun just impresses me. Since buying it I have went through two boxes of Remington 550 ct. Today I went to the range with some quality Winchester ammo to do a real world accuracy test. I set up a B-27 target. 20 shots at 15 yards and all 20 shots were in X ring. I backed up to the 25 yard line, 19 shots were inside the outer ring outside of the X ring (most people call this the 10 ring but it's not marked) I slapped the trigger once and pulled one low in the 9 ring. Feeling good, I backed up to the 50 yard line (barricade strong side supported), 20 shots all inside the 9 ring.It was a great day on the range today. I ended up putting about 200 rounds through my 22/45 (I was trying to tighten up my 100 yard shot group but I couldn't keep them all inside the 7 ring, (I'm no Hickok45). Left the range feeling good about my gun and abilities and as a plus I ended up with a sore trigger finger, what more can a man ask for.
